11:45 am - Martin Biron acknowledged, “This is not a regular game.” He said it would be a great thing if you can bring that energy you have facing your old team every night. “It’s special,” he said. Asked if there was any disappointment the Flyers did not re-sign him, Biron said with a half-smile, “It would have been a lot easier.” He was referring, of course, to keeping his growing young family in their South Jersey home instead of being separated from them. While Martin lives on the Island for the season, his family remains in Buffalo.
Still, being the glass half-full man he is, Biron said he is “blessed” to be with the Islanders and has already created new memories on Long Island. “New challenges, new experiences,” he said.
Well the assumption is that Asham is healthy, so 12 F 6 D.
But Syvret and OKT have both been healthy scratchs.
Sorry Im alittle confused. We had Laliberte + Briere in last game. Briere gets suspended and Laliberte sent back. Asham comes back. Doesnt that mean we have 11 forwards? Or are they playing Cote?

As much as it is fun to make fun of Biron, he was one of the few goalies to put up a save percentage of .915 two seasons in a row. He's more than capable of handling Boosh, all things being equal. This game won't be easy unless the Isles have some big defensive lapses but they are a hardworking team. I mean, ****, Richard Park is on their top line and they still have a decent shot at making the playoffs as an 8 seed.
Oh I'm not making fun of Biron, I'm making fun of his puckhandeling.
I really liked him as a person and aside from the inconsistancy he showed his puckhandling was the only thing I didn't like. Super nice guy. Should stay in him net.
Marty Biron when face his ex-teammates tonight when the improved New York Islanders host the Flyers at 7.
"He's a great guy who loved to be at the rink every day and loved to have fun," Flyers winger Scott Hartnell said. "Seeing him in between the pipes will be a little different. You shoot on him every day in practice so you think you may have his tendancies. It will be fun and we need to get ourselves back onto the winning ways."
"It will be nice to see him again," captain Mike Richards said. "Obviously we have been through a lot the last couple of years when we were teammates. I know that he is having some success out here, which is nice to see."
The Flyers have lost three straight on a 1-3 road trip that ends tonight.
"It is obviously not going the way we wanted it to go," Richards said. "But if we win tonight, we could salvage a couple of points and head back home, where we feel more comfortable. I think (tonight) is going to be more mental than anything."
Brian Bouhcer will be in the net for the Flyers, who loaned right winger David Laliberte back to the Phantoms. That means Arron Asham figures to be in tonight's lineup after missing four games with an injured side.
Sadly, I'm calling a loss. Islanders are due for a W over us eventually. Biron is going to motivated and we're not exactly rolling or sending our best lineup out there.
