Well, there is another former Habs, younger, that is already at the Igloo... look at my avatar!

Edit: I would try Muller before Carbo or Gainey

So what are the time limits for recalling someone? Just the time it takes for them to get to Montreal? or are they locked a few hours before the game?

What prevents Gainey from recalling Stewart or someone else as we speak?

We probably have until the warmup to recall players, but we are playing in Pittsburgh tonight, so as it is a 6-hour trip from the Copps (in limousine, ask DD), forget about a recall for tonight.

They won't make it to the game in time.

Well the fact that it is two hours before gametime and the player would be in Hamilton doesn't help.

Probably the fact that they'd have to fly to Pittsburgh with their equipment and make it there by 6:30 or 7. I think Stewart would have to pass recall waivers to come back so he is out. Maxwell would be the obvious choice.

Maybe we can ask Pitt's zamboni driver if he wants to play some hockey?

Even with a private plane? I would assume we have some means of getting a player here in time.

But anyway looking at the clock now it probably is too late.

The pain in all this is if we ice 19 players, most of them played yesterday. Especially worried about Price and the amount of shots he might face.

It's a night like tonight where we can have used Kovalev and his private jet to fly some Bulldogs to Pittsburgh this afternoon.

Gainey

Good thing we don't have Brian Burke though, he would probably trade the Pens a first rounder during warmups so we could ice a full team.

We may get blown out tonight, but the experience gained during this injury crisis by the likes of Lapierre, MaxPac, White, Pyatt, Pouliot, OB (not to mention Pleks and Price) and anybody else left standing will make us a much stronger, deeper team come the spring. The only question is will there be a spring? If not, their invaluable situational play/experience now will carry over to next year.

In a very twisted sort of way, I'm actually enjoying watching our young guys step up to the challenge. No doubt it would be a hell of lot better watching the young guys grow if the Kost. brothers were in there.

I agree that the team will get better and better (IF we can avoid more injuries) and that it is fun to see youngsters in our lineup. Now we know why we have Re-Hab as the theme for our avatars this year!

Holy crap if we beat the Pens with an AHL lineup then Jacques Martin>Scotty Bowman. I am sincerely impressed by his coaching simply by the fact that this team can remain respectable with such a depleted lineup. By contrast under Carbo whenever we lost Markov due to injury, it looked like the team was a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. He has the young guys doing everything right, I know we still make lots of mistakes and if not for Price.......well I am glad he has his game on. I am hoping for a solid effort by our guys tonight, I won't bash them if they lose and I pray by some fluke of God that Crosby and Malkin are off sleeping in a hotel room or something. Go Habs Go.

Someone has to be held accountable at some point.

Spacek, Sergei K., Gomez are three important hurt players, and these three injuries were avoidable.

Can't wait to see that lineup healthy!

Better now than at the end of the season I guess...

This is a contusion... this isn't too bad of an injury at least, and he still could play tonight.

So let me get this straight...

19 skaters tonight...

we played yesterday...

missing the entire starting lineup of the opening night and their brothers...

playing against the First place team in the East...

Playing against Sidney Crosby, Malkin, Gonchar and Orpik...

In Pittsburgh...

... Its literally all on you Carey... no pressure
