It wasn't the best of fight, but I agree with the post above me. It's good to see a player finally stick up for a teammate. Way to go Gilroy!
Ouch. Gilly got cracked in the nose there... But still it's nice to see that he's willing to stand up for his teammates though.

PAP is an ace in the shootout. I like what I've seen from him so far.

Is it just me or was Lundqvist coming way more out in that shootout than usual

Meh. Maybe a little... He has always been good to challenge the shooter for the most part in the SOs.

However, Moore's GTG looked very stopable, but Hank is in too deep leaving too much net to shoot at.

He gotta challenge a little bit right there. I'd like to see him be on the edge of the crease more.

The Florida broadcast showed that goal from ice level, behind Moore. Moore shot the puck through a 12-inch gap under Girardi's knee and above the ice. Henrik wouldn't see the puck until it was 10 feet in front of him. I don't know that he'd have stopped it even if he was off his line to cut down the angle.

But yeah, playing a bit off his line might help him.

From that picture alone it doesn't really look like there is any way that he could have shot it through Girardi's legs and have it end up where it did. I think it just cleared his left skate and beat Hank who looked like he didn't see it until it was in already.

Yeah, it went in front of the left skate, right under his bent knee.

I'm sure someone like Dagoon could explain it in more detail but there are certain rules that the players abide by when they fight, and the agreement to fight is one of the most important ones. While it may not seem like it, there is a level of respect that the enforcers must have towards another.
**** that code. That's ********. In the old nhl a guy takes runs at your skilled guys and than runs and hides his teammates pay the price. If Brash can't get him to fight YET HE CONTINUES To run at guys Brash has to ENFORCE. Brash doesn't dso **** by fighting the ahl call up meathead. IT ACCOMPLISHES NOTHING. You enforce by running at Weiss or Horton. Send a clear message not to **** with our skilled guys. This team is way to vulnerable for that message to be crystal clear.

Otherwise teams will eventually get to Gabby. And why not when the consequence is what? You have to fight Gilroy?

Didnt see the game (no feed ughhh) unfortunately so had to browse through box scores, yeah desperate I know. Read through most of this thread too. Nice to see Higgins play well, Gabby with another goal, Gilroy fighting (even though he got owned, sticking up for a teammate was good) and Girardi doing better. Ohh and was Rozsival really OK out there last night??? Wat da beep.

Don't forget though Lundqvist had almost no time to get set for the shot since it was a quick turnover by Avery.

From the replay behind the net yesterday it looked like he was completely screened by Girardi, that photo doesn't really do justice.

He had plenty of time.Avery lost it at the blueline and moore skated up a few feet before he took the shot.
