Are you talking aout Paul Ranger? I never said he was UFA. TB signed all of their RFA's, I just deleted the PM by accident before I updated the post. The only teams that have unsigned significant RFA's are Buffalo, Minny, and NYR and they have extra time because their GM's were replaced.
Ottawa didn't qualify Brian Lee according to the FA chart.
The Calgary Flames have come to terms on a 3 year contract with veteran defenseman Mark Eaton. We're ecstatic with this signing and we think he fits perfectly with our line-up. He brings Stanley Cup experience and knows what it takes to get the cup.

Huge News out of the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The biggest free agent signing in Flames history, giving our team one of the best lines in hockey.
Drummmmmmrollllllllll...............
Ladies and Gentleman, your new Calgary Flame. The one and only....
Jaromir Jagr.
Jagr was itching to get back into the NHL after a stint in the KHL and being able to play in Canada, and have a great chance at the cup was enough to sign the dotted line. Jagr will join Jason Spezza and Jarome Iginla on the top line for 2 years at 4.5 M dollars a year. We're looking forward to Jaromir joining the team and we think he pushes us into elite territory.
I like G4 too (Saku came up with that one). Also, just outta curiosity, what's Eaton's cap hit on that new deal?
2.25 M for 3 years. Sorry I forgot to say that. He's getting pretty old but he's shown he's a solid, reliable Top 4 D-man the last 2 seasons and I think he'd fit great on the Flames blue-line. He'll probably line up with Pietrangelo or Pardy.
We've got 23 people on the main roster (2 forwards in the box, 1 d-man) and we've got...rough guess (I do have it written down) 330K in cap space remaining. Going to send one more forward down to the AHL.
The Phoenix Coyotes got their top-4 defenseman they sought, announcing today the team has signed blueliner Dan Hamhuis.
The 26-year-old former Nashville Predator brings a solid defensive game to the Coyotes back-end while offering great offensive upside. The deal pays Hamhuis $29M over 5 years.
With the acquisition of Hamhuis the Coyotes are entertaining offers for Ed Jovanovski, 33, who would like to finish his career with a team on track to win a Cup in the next two years.

Oduya is a fine defensman, but I don't see him as a rock solid top-4 as I do Hamhuis. He's not nearly as polished as Hamhuis in either zone, and he's 2 years older. IMO, of course.

Johnny Oduya was the #2 defenseman on the league's #4 defense a year ago - a defense that made Scott Clemmensen look like a NHL goaltender.
INK MAREK ZIDLICKY TO A 5 YEAR DEAL
The Vancouver Canucks have added a vital part of the teams needs, defense, signing Marek Zidlicky to a 5 year deal, paying him $3,750,000 per year. Marek adds another top d-man to play with guys like Ehrhoff, Edler, Bieksa and Salo. The Canucks need to add one more bottom six defenseman to the team to complete the GM Game.
Haha the only reason I did that is because I was going to be gone for a few hours and I thought he would be gone by the time I was back Posted via Mobile Device
Hamhuis won't make a dollar over 4 M IMO. But it's not like Phoenix doesn't have the cap room for it.
I agree, but bidding was already over $5M. I usually try and keep it real in these, not sure why I pulled the trigger on this one. Other than I get tired of missing out on the top guys who always get overpaid; or, "no one will go to Phoenix unless massive overpayment."
The sting of the past summer and the ownership cloud still hangs over us, even in fantasy land.

I got Willie Mitchell for a very agreeable sum and I think he's better than Hamhuis.
