Stevens has been solid this year IMO. I've always been a hater of him, but I really can't complain. Our guys simply aren't doing what is needed to win these games. You can't put the blame on the coach in this situation.

The PP has nothing to do with Stevens.

I know. That's Berube's territory, right? I know it's top in the league right now, but we had a lackluster effort tonight on the PP. Maybe just one of those days.

Hard to win with Stevens as coach. Can't wait till he is freaking fired.

I think the honeymoon may be over. There is a reason why he was playing in Outer Mongolia last year.

Cause their talent is playing like ****. They can't even complete some simple passes at times. So they're missing passes and can't get a decent breakout going. It's been noticeable since the SJ game. And I don't know how you can blame missing passes on the coach.

He really hasn't made that bad of decisions as he has in the past. Just kind of hard to work with half a team that's AHLers. People need to cut him some slack for the job he's doing. Really, the team could have tanked in the position they're in right now, but it's not that bad (luckily).

By the way, for those curious, my hockey tournament game today, the other team failed to show, so we just scrimmaged and screwed around. I blame Coach John Stevens on the travesty that I couldn't actually play a competitive game today. Fire him.

Very true. You can spend a little money on an unreliable used BMW, or a lot of money on a newer one. Sure you'll have some good times in that used BMW, but in the end which one is going to be reliable?

Not Ray Emery.

Another goal scored by the opposition powerplay today.

The PK has been mediocre this season and it doesn't help that the ridiculous number of goals the Flyers scored while shorthanded last year hasn't carried over to this season.

Well, it won't. They aren't burning out Mike Richards and some of the other skilled players on the PK. Which is a good thing.

Oh, I agree.

The Flyers scored 16 shorties last year, which is 1 every five games. Combine that with a top 6 PK and the team wins some tight games.

This year they've only scored 1 shorty through 23 games, which is on pace for 12 less than last year, and the PK is in the middle of the pack.

Two wins in the last five games and both were with Boucher. What fun.

In fairness, the Flyers were running basically 3 lines, and Cote had to be on one of them since Carcillo, Ross, and Lappy were all out at the same time. By the end, they looked worn out. However, like a similar infamous game, Carcillo wins two fights, and it's the Sabres who are the ones more jacked up.

Patrick Kaleta: second game in a row this has happened. This time he gets the major, and refuses to fight. Here is how you solve that problem:

The next game, Carcillo/Hartnell/whoever, challenges him to fight. He declines.

Next time, in a non-Bertuzzi fashion. Carcillo or Hartnell informs him, that the next shift he is out there, there will be a fight, with Kaleta. Whether or not he fights back is up to him, he's the one who is a coward.

When Kaleta turtles, Carcillo/Hartnell/whoever, continues. Do not stop. You're going to get 9 minutes in penalties, and probably a game misconduct but business will be taken care of. If he doesn't want to fight, he clearly does not have the respect to man up and face the music, so my guy sure as hell better not be showing him respect back by letting up in a fight he doesn't want to be in. Then you explain to your team that this is a penalty that you need to kill off.

In this old days, it wouldn't come to this, but if it did, business gets taken care of one way or another.

Exactly GKJ, the code does not apply when dealing with a punk like Kaleta. He obviously does not respect the game and selfishly plays beyond the rules. If he is gonna be cheap, at least face the noise. Craig Rivet is no tough guy fighter, but if you have a captain like him defending Kaleta, there are some major issues. Over the past few years, Kaleta has had his fair share of dirty hits that have gone unpunished. If the NHL wants to save this man's career, they should suspend him so he does not get run. The Ovechkin run will set up more and more dirty hits on Kaleta, because it is getting out of hand with this tool.

He's gonna get it one day. From someone. Someone is going to show him the same respect Kaleta shows everyone else. And then when he's in the hospital, he'll understand.
