Agreed on Emery. Time to pick up his game again. He's still fighting for a contract next year. Boucher has one, Emery does not.

There's one thing I love about that Kaleta clip, now that I've seen it a second time. Cote makes a beeline for him immediately, and Kaleta's looking in the opposite direction. If there's one guy on the ice you want to see coming it's Riley.

I almost don't blame him for turtling. I'm pretty sure he literally **** his pants.

No, because players who play in the league know that when they make a bad play, they must answer the bell for their actions. Take responsibility for what you did. Kaleta knew he was coming, even if it doesn't look so.

I was working, missed the game.
What happened to Lappy?

Also, Kaleta needs to get his face smashed in.

I think this is the most I've hated Buffalo since the Barnaby days. Feels good.

went to this game today, my first of the year. everything seems to have already been said, but i realllllly want to emphasize just how badly john stevens needs to be fired. i don't even think this team makes the playoffs this year with him behind the bench...

I'm a big John Stevens hater...a very big one...but this wasn't his fault. We were without an entire line. Emery was soft. And the PP couldn't even gain the zone.

That said, I still see the same issues the team has had for 3 years...which is why I will not let up on my "Fire Stevens" talk.

The simple fact that he has coached the flyers longer than Hitchcock did makes my stomach turn....

That's Stevens' fault. When they score, Joey Mullen gets the credit for being the PP genius. When it struggles, it's John's fault.

PHILADELPHIA — Lindy Ruff couldn't speculate about the injuries suffered by Craig Rivet and Paul Gaustad. Then again, maybe he just didn't want to. They might be that bad.

Rivet and Gaustad suffered leg injuries during Friday's 4-2 victory over Philadelphia. Both are likely to be out longer than tonight's game against Carolina in HSBC Arena.

"It looks right now like both players will miss some time. Both have leg injuries, and we'll get more details when we get back home," Ruff said in Wachovia Center. "I'm not going to guess [which is worse or how long]. [Today] will be a big day for them."

Gaustad limped to the dressing room during the second period after crashing into the boards while trying to hit the Flyers' Scott Hartnell.

Rivet was injured with 3:22 remaining. He and the Flyers' Arron Asham were chasing a puck behind the Buffalo goal when Rivet hit the ice and slid feet first into the boards. He kneeled with his forehead on the ice for some time before trainers and teammates escorted him up and to the dressing room.

Wow. I hate the Buffalo's color guy. I forget his name, nor do I care to look it up. I'm thinking his days are limited he's getting pretty old.

He needs a limiter on his mic, he peaks quite often. It sounds very cheap!

Lappy got hit in the face by a slapshot from the point halfway through the 1st, went down immediately and also bled. He then sat out the entire 2nd period. In the third he returned with a full facemask.

Reportedly he lost 4 teeth in the process. TSN has it in the game review.

Don't count on it. RJ may be getting old, but his son is likely going to take over for him when he steps down. And sounds just like him.

Not to say this doesn't suck, but there are other teams who are missing just as many or more key players. Take a look at the Devils' list of injuries.

I didn't think emery played that bad a game actually. He was in our end (section 123) for two for the three periods and the one goal looked a little soft but it was a pretty nice shot. The other one's are just bad luck (the Carle goal and the bouncer over his head). The one they scored in the second was a deflection, right?

Also, after getting a chance to watch miller in person for the first time... holy cow he's good. Really good.

Yeah, I'm not a fan either. Jeanerette is really hard to watch if you're not a Sabres fan. His team can do no wrong and everyone else is the bad guy.
