Fighter / hard hitter (Briere ) is off the roster for two games due to suspension, of course they bring one (Cote) to replace him?

For all of the preseason concern about where secondary scoring would come from, it appears we have answers.
The bottom 7 forwards and the defense are halfway to matching last year's goals output. And the Emery guy behind them all is playing pretty well. I wonder when Boucher's next start is?
Excellent post and much appreciated. There is no doubt that when our bottom 6 is healthy they are a huge improvement on last years bottom 6. Although the stats tell part of the story they don't factor in things like relieving Ritchie of PK time and blocking key shots and closing out key games. All are things that Betts and Lappy bring to the table that our bottom guys didn't really do last year.

Yeah the coaches finally figured out that we need some muscle out there, expect to see Cote and OKT more in the lineup from now on.

That's the reason we lose so many road games, not winning the board battles, losing players to injury...look at Powe. We're not tough at all, but this will change.

Guys, have a look at other team's rosters. We're quite okay with injuries, some teams in the other hand... not so okay.

Umm...no they didn't? Cote's playing because we're badly banged up and OKT is clearly not playing.

well it is going to be interesting who is going to be in there against the thrashers because jared ross went down today along with lappy and maybe carcillo might even get a suspension for his actions....so i see briere(obviously) and probaly laliberte in there. It is possible that lappy returns.

i really wouldnt mind cote if he knew how to skate and didnt mess up every breakout of every line he is on unless they dont pass to him and the only reason he is still here is because his wife basically runs the flyers carnival

Asham is the odd man out. He plays the game great but where does he fit on the team if everyone is healthy? Not in the top 2 with Gagne, Briere, Carter, Richards, Giroux, Hartnell, & JVR. Our 3rd line is pretty much a given when healthy, Betts, Carcillo, Laperriere.

He plays game to well to get 6 minutes a night on the 4th line. So where does he fit? I feel sorry for the guy, he needs to be on a 3rd line somewhere.

Poor Timonen.

Playing over 20 mins a night with a broken toe, that's gotta suck

RT @CSNFlyer: Laviolette's lines: Hartnell-Richards-Briere, JVR-Giroux-Carter, Carcillo-Pyorala-Asham, Nodl-Kalinski-Laperriere.

On my phone can't quote properly, but per @PhiladelphiaFlyers twitter.

I just got a message from an inside source, and these are the line combinations that Laviolette had in practice, and likely for the game. It also said that Lappy seems to have had some trouble with his whole mouth thing, and that's why he's on the 4th line instead of the 3rd.

JVR-Giroux-Carter
Hartnell-Richards-Briere
Carcillo-Pyorala-Asham
Kalinski-Laperriere-Nodl

IF they are putting Carter on the wing... why not with Richards?

I really like these combinations. I'm all for Giroux and JVR getting more ice time.

This...

Something that pissed me off about Stevens was he wasn't giving JVR and Giroux more ice time.

I knew something was wrong with Timonen. It was so obvious at the game on Thursday.
