Stop using Plekanec in shootouts: Habs lose 4-3 in SO

So close to getting those 2 points in regulation.

Huge effort. Would have been the W of the season. Oh well, let's get some bodies back

Do not send Plekachu to take any faceoffs at the end of the game and no more shootout please for him. Good Performance by Price.

Don't worry, we'll get a high pick in the draft.

Disappointing because we had the lead with 11 seconds left. But then we were down 2-0 and played a crappy first period.

One point against Washington with this team is good.

Spacek was outstanding tonight, as was Hamrlik. Price didn't have a lot of shots but made some huge saves, especially when Caps were leading. He didn't give up that back breaking third goal and allowed us to come back.

I love Pleks and despite a goal it wasn't a great game for him, a couple big faceoff losses and a lot of bad blind passes. I'm happy with the point though as I wasn't expecting the game to be that close after the first period.

**** happens. I'd rather we held on an extra 11 seconds but **** happens. We really need Gionta and Gomez back. We were flying for a while but we are showing how much we miss them now.

Good game and great effort. I am glad we got a point though. Price looking solid again.

Habs can't stop taking first penalty of the match and end games with a penalty. Tonight, they paid for those. And the dreaded faceoff problem.

Anyway, good effort by a 25M$ team.

Just needed to win one lousy faceoff to win this game...ugh. Bad start, good rally, bad finish. Good effort though.

Aside from the points already mentioned, nice block by white, Pacioretty continues to impress, and I'm not quite sure what Mara's penalty was for (I missed the replay) but it looks like the same thing he does infront of the net all of the time so why they called it with 15 seconds left is beyond me.

Heartbreak of a game...team played well.

Habs are piss poor on defensive faceoffs,

and another missed 5 on 3 PP. I believe they scored on the ensuing 5 on 4 PP, but still I have never seen a team miss so many 5 on 3 chances.

Didn't expect them to win this game, but I also didn't expect to blow it with 11 seconds left...

Price was subpar tonight, 3 suspect goals, not solid at all.

With some better positioning on the 1st and 3rd goals, we would've won easily.

Other than that, good effort by the boys.

Great idea. Don't give our mvp any responsibility, thats how every team treat their best player.

There's pros and cons in this loss. On the pro side, we got a point against a good team with our depleted lineup and played well in the last two periods. On the con side, we lost when we had the lead with 11 seconds. Tough to take, but I;m guessing it's an outcome will feel better about in a few days.

Not a Habs fan but I have to say the team has shown a lot of character hanging in there. It can only mean good things.

Damn.......

Had those two points! Montreal outplayed Washington in the 2nd and third. Deserved the W!

Price is amazing.....

Where are those Price bashers calling for Halak to be the starter?

I might agree about the shootout but he's the man you want for that faceoff 10 times out of 10.

Good game and nice effort overall. I can't see the Habs sending White back to the minors now, although they might not have the choice when everyone is healthy. Pacs with another solid game and showing more and more confidence out there. Hamrlik and Spacek played great once more and Price gave the team a chance again.

And without those key saves in the second period the game would've been out of reach and over early.

Just check the faceoff summary:

PLEKANEC 7 / 21 33%

METROPOLIT 8 / 15 53%

LAPIERRE 6 / 10 60%

And we sent PLEKANEC out to take the faceoff with 15 seconds left. !@#$%!

And he failed. Oh and Cammalleri is our best player (I know you do not like to give credit for BG signings this offseason)
