Isn't it time to use our secret weapon in the penalty shots?

How about MAB with a rocket near the circles? How the heck can a goalie stop that unless he's freakin out of his net and then he'll be able to deke him?

Worth a try?

Absolutely

If Price is perfect every game we can't lose.

I also think that if we scored twice in the shootout we beat the caps

Even try doing the Souray fake slap shot if the goalie comes out too far.

I just don't get why Sergei didn't get a chance in the shootout, Pleks hasn't scored in forever in them.

You might as well have said "why do they ever let in goals? don't they know they could lose that way?"

Stuff like this happens and it's harder than you think.

You saw in the overtime that on a similar play towards the end, his stick was parallel and totally on the ice. There is no way if he does that with 15 seconds that it's a goal. No matter who was or wasn't there. And Fehr was so close to him that if you use the butterfly it's because that's what you need to cover. But a butterfly with your stick in the air doesn't mean a lot.

But he'll learn with experience to do that on a regular basis. But it's not the first time that he gets caught with his stick not in the right place.

Maybe you need a seeing eyed dog?
Letting the puck squeak through his legs maybe? Jesus, all I said was he played a subpar game compared to his spectacular streak the last several games and all his defenders come jumping out.

My lineup was Cammy, Lappy and SKost. I even had MaxPac 4th, Metro 5th and Pleks 6th.

hater/bashing at its finest.

a rocket from Ovechkin from the just above the faceoff circle, and a goal off a rebound from a rocket of an Ovie shot that came from the high slot. Only suspect goal you could call was the first goal which was a deflection if you want to really dig deep.

you and the other Price basher try to compete with these types of comments.

You have no clue what you are talking about...Price had no chance on any of the goals. He held us in there with several key saves. If not for him, we lose in the 2nd period.

Don't look now, but Pacioretty has 6 points in the last 6 games.

Well, with 11 sec left and a 1 goal lead, the first guy you tackle/cross check/slash is the guy in front of the net.

Would have been nice to get both points, especially when we were that close, but I see a lot of poisitives for us in this game.
I like that we didn't pack it in after going down 2-0 on the first 3 shots, Price included.
He made some key stops that let us get back into the game.
This team is playing with essentialy 3 lines, so once we get gio-gomez-akost-dager-pouliot back we will be able to ice 4 lines.
That might help us keep our intensity right to the end of the game.
White/Pyatt are playing so well it's unbelievable.

Martin is going to have some tough decisions to make if our team gets healthy.
I don't know how you can scratch or demote White/Pyatt the way they are playing, and we have 3 extra forwards by my count in Dager/Pouliot/Laraque.

If you think he had no chance to save the 3rd goal at least then you have no clue what you're talking about. He can make big saves, but all we needed was one last stop in the dying seconds on a shot that would've been saved had he kept his stick on the ice.

He'll learn though, similar play in OT he kept his stick on the ice; I'm sure he's pissed at the outcome, that'll probably fire him up for the next game.

I am a Price fan, but I think the 1st and 3rd definitely could have been stopped. Price would probably say as much.

I still can't be displeased with his game tonight, especially after his early 2nd heroics with the score 2-0 and 2-1, but he was playing at a higher level last week.

Thank you, this is all I was saying and you put it in much simpler, less emotional terms.

Spacek didn't look too bad out there tonight, considering he missed time as well...rustiness showed in the first, but he was big the rest of the game.

You said he wasn't solid at all, by saying that you're making it sound like he was bad all game. I agree the goals were stoppable but he was very solid in the second period and that allowed us to stay in the game.

I guess I was still livid that we were 11 seconds from running away with it

Compared to his last several games, he wasn't as good...I didn't say he was bad, just subpar IF you take his ridiculous streak into account.

Though subpar compared to his streak translates into a decent game otherwise, he did make some good stops.
