A new goalie as a backup, maybe. Maybe "goalie" is a code word for "coach".

It's ESPN...take it with a grain of salt...

and I don't really see the point of trading the only guy outside of Gabby that puts points up consistently...

ESPN is a joke when it comes to hockey coverage.

It depends. If the deadline comes around and we are out of the playoff picture, maybe you trade Prospal to a contender for a pick or prospect.

That I could see...but not 1/3 of the way through the season...we are still very much in the playoff hunt despite the last two games...

Honestly, I think we can all agree that, even with moves at the deadline, we're not going to be a cup-contending team. Prospal would be very attractive to other teams in the league and I wouldn't hesitate using him to bring something good back. Maybe even use him to dump a garbage contract? That might be a little too hopeful.

The crap is a joke. They use the "Rangers Rants" blog as their "sources" for this information, where the posts were 100% speculation. They're not saying they have sources that say the Rangers are in the market for a goalie, but just that they saw a Ranger blog that said the Rangers need one. It would be no different than me coming here to post that The Mouth says on his blog that we need a new goalie.

Same thing with the Prospal ****. They use Ranger Rants as their source and all Ranger Rants did was speculate as to who could be traded.

Awards:
The post CLEARLY says they might be interested in a new BACKUP goalie. It also says Prospal is a possible asset, based off of a list of "unmoveable players" created by Rangers Rants.

This is not news, guys, and not even really a rumor.
