I'd still like to see some final rosters posted to see how people fared in FA.
Since I doubt we'll have a final roster thread:

I waive and buyout Robert Nilsson, giving me a $63k cap cushion this coming season (!) and a $500k hit next season.

Parise - Zajac - Langenbrunner
Rolston - Elias - Josefson/Tedenby
Bergfors - Zubrus - Clarkson
Halischuk - Cormier - Zharkov

(That fourth line would be so awesome.)

On defense, I'd go with

Martin
McCabe
Mitchell
Greene
Oduya
Corrente/Fraser/Eckford/Mottau, pick two

Brodeur
Danis

And the Devils would wreck the NHL.

None of these lineups particularly scare me. Washington would give the Devils lineup I posted the best run for its money, but I think New Jersey would take a series.

Definitely playoff caliber, and a danger to upset any team that doesn't take them seriously. You overpaid for Kubina, but you had the cap space to, so.

I do like the D and obviously the Top-line is established, but that's about it.

Rolston being a year older and on the decline doesn't particularly scare me either. You've got a lot of youth on a team playing big roles. Tedenby/Josefson I can't see being significant threats next season. A 4th line of 2 rookies and a sophomore, would be too green to excel, who've you got to take their spots when they get burned by an offensive team over and over?

I think the team Washington built would eat the Devils alive. I also believe my Flames would as well.

This Devils lineup is the same lineup that is currently devouring the NHL, except I added Cormier and Josefson/Tedenby and it's without injuries. If they don't work out, I call up Sestito to fourth line center, move Bergfors back up to second line wing, put Halischuk back on the third line, and put Leblond/Peters back in at the fourth line.

And there's no way Halischuk/Zharkov/Cormier would get beaten. Zharkov is a defensive machine, Halischuk already fills the role of checking winger, and Cormier was the shutdown guy for team Canada's WJC team, he can handle it.

Lastly, Rolston isn't on the decline - he's on pace for 30 goals.

Nashville is very underrated - this would be a solid team and dangerous every night.

I don't buy Tangradi as a 2nd liner, but other then that, a great team.

East Top 3:
Washington
Pitts
New Jersey

West:
San Jose
Calgary

All Tangradi has to do on that line is be big in front of the net and hit people on the forecheck. Although Tangradi is probably my 8th or 9th best forward, he's a perfect compliment to the Malkin-Radulov combo, and that 3rd line with my 6th, 7th, and 8th best forwards will see almost as much ice time as the top 2 lines.

If the 2009/10 version of the Coyotes doesn't sneak into the playoffs, these guys will finally crash the party next year. We added scoring, kept our speed and strong two-play, and improved our blueline. Hope we're still in Phoenix. I don't want to move.

A little bit worse than the team that went the cup finals, but I added a ton of prospects, and an elite shutdown center. I also completely reloaded my prospect depth, with as many as 4 top 6 forwards added (Nino, Ferraro, Bjugstad, Tatar) and a couple nice defense prospects.

If this game kept going I'd be looking for another d-man, and a borderline top 6 forward.
