Hab's Russian news

Markov has been injured during the camp for the Rosno Cup, which started today. I have no idea what the injury is, only that he was sent home due to injury. The last time I heard he was injured, he was expected to be out a long time, only to be in the lineup later in the week. It's hard to get solid info though, and since I don't read Russian very well, it's hard for me to get info sometimes.

I do believe Perezhogin played today wearing #21, I don't think he had any goals but I haven't seen the boxscores yet.

And Team Russia will announce their roster for the wjc's tomorrow. So hopefully Yemelin made the team but we'll have to wait till tomorrow for the official announcement. I'd be more surprised if he makes the team then doesn't make it, as I have had a tough time getting to see him play and if he makes the team I'll get to see him play against USA (assuming he plays). I think just being at camp is good for him and a very positive sign for the 18 year old. It would be great if he made the team, I can't wait to see him play.

Apparently, he's virtually made it or so I've heard from other posters.

I assume those posters are going off the IIHF website, where he's listed as being on the team. But since the team has been in camp until today, where they just played their last game, no one really knows who made it outside of a few who were said to be locks. From the sound of it, there aren't really any locks on defense for Russia, so that bodes well for Yemelin, as a strong camp could get him a spot over one of the more experienced defensemen.

Rosno Cup:

Russia beat Finland 2-1. No pts for Perezhogin who played on the 4th line with Kurianov and Ryazantsev.
