Whoopty-friggen-doo. Basketball still sucks, the Sixers are still terrible, and people still won't give two *****. Although, I must agree with Opus. Couldn't see AI retire anywhere else.

I hope they keep losing, but are at least fun about it so they draw a bigger crowd.
Getting a stud draft pick is sadly the only way to be a good team in the NBA. Add a guy like Dwight Howard and the Sixers are all of a sudden a small move or two away from being a top 10 team.
If the deal is what was rumored, then the Sixers don't have much to worry about (I believe $1.4 million for a year in un-guaranteed money).
They aren't going anywhere this year. They just need to somehow get people in the seats. I don't know how long AI can be a ticket seller again for though.
I like the move. AI was one of the best players to ever wear the 76ers uniform. It's fitting that he comes back. It's a very low risk deal for a team that needs some kind of jolt. Doubt he'll really help the team win more, but the 76ers have been the talk on CSN and ESPN the last few days so it's at least a win in that department.

completely true. before this i wouldnt have even thought about watching a sixers game. now ill prob watch a least the first game with him just to see what he has now a days.

AI doesnt even hold a candle to the Sixers next best player, Dr J.
After that though, AI is up there with Barkley and others to round out the top 5 IMHO.

Yea they would. The sixers had some good teams and players over the years. It's a shame that they are at a point where they are the one team each season I don't even get excited for anymore. Even when the Flyers, Eagles, or Phillies struggle I still think in the back of my mind, "well if they make the playoffs...". not with the sixers though lol.

I don't get excited about the Sixers ever myself, but it is kinda cool to have a team with such an awesome history.
They recent jersey change to get back to their roots was a step in the right direction IMHO.
