I know nobody gives a **** about basketball, and I don't either, but I love AI.

"How the hell could I make my teammates better by practice?"

Fitting that he'll retire a Sixer.

Desperation move by the Sixers. They're a terrible team this season (again), their attendance is absolutely pathetic, and they're probably hoping this will help them solve both problems.

Whoopty-friggen-doo. Basketball still sucks, the Sixers are still terrible, and people still won't give two *****. Although, I must agree with Opus. Couldn't see AI retire anywhere else.

I hope they keep losing, but are at least fun about it so they draw a bigger crowd.

Getting a stud draft pick is sadly the only way to be a good team in the NBA. Add a guy like Dwight Howard and the Sixers are all of a sudden a small move or two away from being a top 10 team.

Love this, AI was the only interesting thing about that team.

So, the year after they drafted Iverson, they changed the logo. Now the season after they changed the logo back, they pick up Iverson again. Weird.

Anyways, I don't care about Basketball anymore and the Knicks still suck. This didn't really change anything about either.

If the deal is what was rumored, then the Sixers don't have much to worry about (I believe $1.4 million for a year in un-guaranteed money).

They aren't going anywhere this year. They just need to somehow get people in the seats. I don't know how long AI can be a ticket seller again for though.

I like the move. AI was one of the best players to ever wear the 76ers uniform. It's fitting that he comes back. It's a very low risk deal for a team that needs some kind of jolt. Doubt he'll really help the team win more, but the 76ers have been the talk on CSN and ESPN the last few days so it's at least a win in that department.

completely true. before this i wouldnt have even thought about watching a sixers game. now ill prob watch a least the first game with him just to see what he has now a days.

guess this is exactly what the sixers were hopin for and its a smart move for a team going nowhere

AI will never go down in history as the best 76er to wear the uniform. That one is easy.

Wilt the Stilt!

AI doesnt even hold a candle to the Sixers next best player, Dr J.

After that though, AI is up there with Barkley and others to round out the top 5 IMHO.

I'm not missing anyone am I?

I said ONE of the best, which IMO he will be. I'd put him up with Wilt, Moses, Dr. J, Barkley, Mo Cheeks. Not saying he is better than any of those.

I forgot Moses Malone! duh! Mo Cheeks was also awesome.

Wow man, the all-time sixers team would be damn nasty, haha.

EDIT:

Guys like Wilt Chamberlain, Moses Malone, Maurice Cheeks, Allen Iverson, Julius Irving, Charles Barkley, Hall Greer, Dolph Schayes, Bill Cunningham

Wow, I never realized the Sixers have quite the history. In the NBA's top 10 teams, the Sixers are represented twice, '66-67 and '82-83.

Yea they would. The sixers had some good teams and players over the years. It's a shame that they are at a point where they are the one team each season I don't even get excited for anymore. Even when the Flyers, Eagles, or Phillies struggle I still think in the back of my mind, "well if they make the playoffs...". not with the sixers though lol.

I don't get excited about the Sixers ever myself, but it is kinda cool to have a team with such an awesome history.

They recent jersey change to get back to their roots was a step in the right direction IMHO.
