The Sharks claimed Jay Leach...i think they have a better record then we do...so, maybe it is not a useless point.
MacIntrye was waived twice...once by the Oilers and then again by the Panthers...who claimed him..

What's with the hostility? He asked if they were claimed by teams higher in the waiver order and Bissonette and MacIntyre were. Leach was claimed while we already had Dandenault working his way to a 7th man contract in the "AHL".
Gaborik and Lundqvist have combined for 2 games missed due to injuries. Given Gaborik's... history, this doesnt suggest a problem to me. What is a problem is 18 goals against in 3 games, and I dont see how a fringe NHLer will fix that, no matter how hard he can punch someone in the face.
I don't get the point in claiming Christensen. Don't we have enough 3rd/ 4th liners? I thought we'd be in lack of scoring....?
Brash is injured so this makes for 13 healthy forwards. He has good hands and skates well. Can't hurt to have another option, at least for the time being. Low risk move here.

With Brashear hurt and Dubinsky out for another couple of weeks they were down to 12 forwards. They may not have wanted to pull anyone else up from Hartford so they saw a player who could fill a hole(at least for a little while) as a possible extra forward and grabbed him. Its a depth signing.
If Vally clears, I think he doesn't have to go through re-entry waivers. You only have to clear waivers again if you spend 30 days on an NHL roster afaik.
This is a year over due. Steve is a dear friend and really nice guy. He has been way to inconsistent to be in the NHL. Steve battles personal issues like a severe lack of personal confidence that he sees a shrink for and this public knowledge so please don't get upset been in the papers . The Leafs will 100% grab him he will never make it back to the Rangers. Torts finally makes a move and the funny part it is once again a guy that is a leader in the locker room. Why waive Steve when Voros is the worst player on the team. Valli is a locker room leader. He speaks fluent Russian and he and his wife are the ones that set up the team parties and functions, I know I hate Torts and this is a good team move but stinks he is such a great guy

He plays well in Toronto.... they have serious issues up there with goaltending. Could be a great thing for him and his family
