There are. There's been a few thousand strong at every Flyers game I've been to in Vancouver.

I was going to bring my brother tonight. Instead, I'm bringing the good luck charm, my youngest. She's never seen the Flyers lose in the regular season, but was at Game 4 against the Penguins last year. As for me, the only time I've seen the Canucks win was in 1974. And they are not due.
We're in 219. See you there.

Question to all you Vancouverites and other Canadians....are you familiar with Captain Canuck? Did you know exactly who he was when I posted that comic of him? Is he very well known in Canada?

I was just curious, bc when I went to do a Canucks photoshop I didn't have a lot of ideas, but that dude was one of the first things to come up in a Google search. I'd never heard or seen of it, but then I looked up the wikipedia entry, and it seemed like he was pretty big....there was even talk about a movie being made soon.

So, is Captain Canuck the Batman/Spiderman of Canada, or were you looking at that comic strip wondering what the hell it was?

I do not think we will win tonight but I am pretty sure Flyers can beat Caps with out Ovechkin, Semin and bunch of other players.

Loss tonight would not do it. Plus Gagne is coming back very soon.

The Caps are a much better team than you think.

That comic is relatively unknown in Canada.

The Canucks wear a patch of Johnny Canuck, another (unknown outside of BC) Canadian comic book hero.

Here's the patch:

Here's the comic book 'legend':

Yeah, but a potential win against a team without their top two offensive performers isn't saying much.

If they don't at least put forth a solid effort tonight then I don't know how they can rationalize holding onto him.

Figured if we concede the game maybe the Flyers would let us leave peacefully. Also have Briere n JVR in pool. And the Nuck board doesn't tell me anything I don't know for the most part. Plus there's guys get no love there:

Only if you pay my bail

I had a thief brake into an old car of mine and took my stero. I found the screwdriver he used to rip open the lock in the bushes. I still have that screwdriver in my glovebox after ten years just in case I ever run into the fella

I remember seeing it when it the newsstands in 1975:
Quote:
The Canadian news media gave the comic book series an unprecedented amount of coverage when the first issue appeared in late May of 1975. Even the U.S. media noticed. Time Magazine gave it the best part of a page and a number of newspapers picked up the wire service articles. In 1980 it made the front page of the Los Angeles Times.
The original artwork is now enshrined in the Canadian National Archives.

Here is a detailed history of the character and how he originally was to be named Captain Canada.
http://www.captaincanuck.com/history/history_main.html

And to the OP - just a great GDT. I have provided a link for other Canucks fans at the Canucks GDT.
