I'm actually surprised I moved on. I had the Clippers at #1 in our division, and I saw them as a tough match-up for me. Thanks for all those who took their time to carefully evaluate my team in the play-offs.

As much as I'm happy to move on, I fell bad for the Clippers.... they did not diserve a 1st round exit! Very well-drafted team.

Congrats to Johnny Engine and Dreakmur. I definitely drew the short straw having to face off against you guys in the first round. There was no reason to have you ranked so low in the regular season.

Fellas,

I'm not going to have time to do anything extensive like I did last round. All I can do is post the bare-bones results:

Jim Robson Division:
The Inglewood Jacks (1) defeat the St. George's Garaga (5) in 6 games.
Three stars:
1. Doug Harvey
2. Frank Nighbor
3. Turk Broda/Guy Lafleur (tie)

The New Jersey Swamp Devils (2) defeat the Portland Rosebuds (3) in 7 games.
Three stars:
1. Bobby Orr
2. Ken Dryden
3. Phil Esposito

Foster Hewitt Division:

The Tidewater Sharks (1) defeat the Trinec Steelers (5) in 6 games.
Three stars:
1. Jaromir Jagr
2. Eddie Shore
3. Chris Chelios

The Betelgeuse Hitchhikers (3) defeat the Trail Smoke Eaters (2) in 7 games.
Three stars:
1. Wayne Gretzky
2. Busher Jackson
3. Bernie Parent

A total of 20 votes were received before the deadline. Two more came in after the deadline, however, they would not have affected the outcome in these series.

Hopefully Hedberg will have results for the Cole and the Lecavalier Divisions later today.

I have to run, and I might not be back for quite a few hours. If somebody could please post the division final match-up threads, I'd appreciate it.

Congratulations to all winners. They were some great match-ups with some very interesting plot twists. I cannot WAIT for the conference finals to get under way.

Damn, I'll only know the results of my series when I'll be back from school!

Congratulation to all teams who fought hard series. A special congratulation to the Saint-George Garaga for my assembling my favourite team in the draft. A VERY solid team that only past ATD-Champion Arrbez could of defeated.

They were your favourite too, hey?

Yeah, I really liked that team. ZM should hold his head high after this draft.

...And the Dominator steals the show. Glad to see I got 2 out of 3 stars though. Congrats to overpass on the great team!

Wow. I knew it would be close but I thought we might win. Congratulations to Mr. Bugg and the Dynamiters! Congratulations to everyone else as well! This was a great draft and I am very proud of the team seventies and I built. Good luck to you all!

Aw, nuts.

Congrats, Mr. Bugg. Bourque and Sakic are an awfully tough combo to overcome.

LF is going to talk your ear off. Hope you're ready!

Congrats to all the winners and to GBC, who put up a good fight and built a good team.

Sad to see your team go; but with so many great ones, great teams are going to have to go.

Let me commend you on your work in this draft, particularly regarding Tarasov. You got a lot of bashing regarding him (which I found unfair) but I, for one, am sold. You have to build carefully and may have to plan your team with the intention of Tarasov coaching it, but otherwise he seems great.

And you know it! Kimberly's going to be in for a rough ride.

Wow, I'm actually quite shocked. I didn't expect to move on. In the ATD I've found it's more about the GMs than the players;the difference between them as a group is small, as they're the top 1000 to play. All you can do is debate a) whether your motley collection fits together b) whether the other guy's does. In that regard, seventies and jarel are a heck of a combination and deserved better.

Having said that, if you all thought I was quiet before, wait until this series. I'm about to begin a wicked stretch at work, going right from Sunday up to the 21st. Half of those are 10-11 hour shifts.

Regardless you can't win this thing by being Helen Keller, so I'm going to do what I can. Looking forward to it, LF, and thanks for a great series Regina.

I had no idea what to expect from last round. Actually I did expect something from my series - for it to go 7. I just had no idea who would come out ahead. Happy that I was the one to narrowly squeak out a win. Great series Nayd/sturm - you have a great team (as do I, I think).

5 out of 8 series going 7 seems about right given how close most of these teams are.

Wow, talk about goaltending dominating the playoffs in one conference.

And overpass's #6 seed moves on to the division finals. Has that happened before? I actually thought Larry Robinson was a nightmare matchup for Renfrew's small, skilled forwards, but obviously speed and Hasek (barely) won the day in that one. Can #6 beat #1 to come out of the Division? Sawchuk vs. Hasek = what a matchup!

Yeah, the matchups are so close now, that it doesn't matter who is in the lineup anymore. Obviously some guys offer a bigger advantage over others, but right now it's going to be almost exclusively up to the debates.

So who's doing thread making? I guess I could do the Robinson and Hewitt division finals if needed.

Congratulation to the Hamilton Bettmans for a great series!

I'm happy to squeeze a win a 6 games as my team will be a little less tired than my opponent ...

''The Uke'' against ''The Dominator'', another great goaltending duel!

EDIT: I've played against seed #8, #7 and now #6 ... is that a world upside-down or what!

Congrats for moving on. I figured upsetting the #1 and #2 seeds would be pretty tough.

Thanks for the series, LF. Congrats on the win.

Division final threads will be posted soon.

I can now take votes for all series. Does Sunday at 11:59 a.m. EST sound like a good deadline for everyone?

Right back at you. Your team was very good. I wasn't sure my guys could beat Larry Robinson, but I guess Hasek pulled through in the end.

Good series, Devil, and congratulations on advancing. I can't say I'm surprised at the result. Nalyd and I wanted to try building a team the opposite way from what has previously been successful in the ATD (ie. top goalie, no top defensemen), and it turned out to be pretty difficult. Appropriate, I suppose, that we went down to the team with perhaps the greatest 1st pairing in ATD history.

For my part, I really felt my interest waning this time around, which is a shame because I'd have liked to have been more a part of the process with all the new blood that showed up for ATD#12. On the other hand I no longer have the time I once had for it, so my apathy is probably for the best.

Good luck, Devil.

Congrats Devil. Losing is always a bitter pill to swallow, but there is no shame in losing to a team as well put together as yours.

Yup. It's disheartening to see a fresh take on an ATD team fail. But, we knew there was an uphill battle in front of us.

My biggest fear is success becoming a formula. I hope more GMs will shun traditional styles and find success.
