Kings v. Senators: A "shinny" **** YEAH III THOUGHTS & TIDBITS

Kings: 6 (holy smoke!)
Senators: a lucky, they should be grateful for what they got because they didn't deserve dick: 3

Fun game eh?

psst...how about those new avatars

lakingsnews.com brings you a very "shinny" post game article. Click on the http://www.lakingsnews.com for more.

Winning is fun.

The Kings are winning.

I'm having fun.

I learned a new word tonight - "shinny". Justin Williams referred to the Kings play as such even though they had the lead. What does it mean? In short, a little sloppy and loose. It's a cross between serious and ******. I like it. I will find uses for it.

No fair Zad! The game wasn't over!

lol Nice hard, sloppy, but hard game for the Kings to win. Two more points in the bag.

lucky... a bounce the other way at 3-3 and we were dead. I will take it though.

I wished that I didn't miss that first bus going home or I wouldn't have missed the Jones goal...

BTW...I will be missing the Blues game outright due to work with THE Salvation Army kettle program...but I'll be asking around my kettle to see who won or for any updates...

Kings in fourth over hot-start Colorado! A good game to break up the pack a little. Hopefully, we can separate ourselves from the other teams even more in the next few games...

Pierre McGuire's latest obsession - Drew Doughty. Also, wouldn't stop ripping Frolov throughout the 2nd period, then changed his tune in the 3rd.

Not our best game but we'll take the 2 pts.

Our first line has been pretty cold last couple of games ( exception last 5 minutes) and we still manage to win games.

That is Soooooo goooood!

Fun to watch, but a lot of slop and shinny.

And dear God, please don't let Patrick O'Neal think he's any kind of a good luck charm.

Very nice win - not pretty, but nice

BTW, are you sure Williams said "shinny"? It sure sounded like something with "t"s in it

... Pretty difficult to make sense of such a sloppy game, but I'm sure the Kings will take the two points.

Johnson really threw his weight around out there, and that was nice to see.

Quick stopped 27 of 30 ... 90% is all I ask in games like these. He gave the team a chance to win.

Handzus continues to be the unsung hero of this team. Great on the draw, excellent defensively, always solid.

Frolov played a helluva game, but most will choose to remember him getting knocked down in the defensive zone before Cheechoo's goal.

Simmonds is a stud. That's the future captain of this team. He does it all.

Doughty had a great game. Williams was opportunistic and got on the board with 3 points. Richardson played well.

O'Donnell did his thing. 20 minutes of rock solid D.

By the way - where were you Zad? Not a peep in the GDT and then before the game is even over here is the PGT. Missed ya in the GDT.

Very sloppy game.

But just like the other night--we're FAAAR from playing our best hockey, have significant injuries, and are finally entering the favorable part of our schedule--we're still winning games and sitting pretty in the conference. I like

I am trying and failing to see why everybody here hates Brown. Just do not get it.

Love the way Matt Greene played tonight. Did not notice him until someone touched Quick, then he was all over it. We need that grit.

Brad Richardson is solid. Just simple smart plays everywhere on the ice, nothing fancy but solid. Good 4th line C that can fill in as neccessary higher I like it.

Although he scored those two goals late, I was not overly impressed with Williams. He needs to be stronger on the puck, IMO.

Doughty is the man. Enough said.

Handzus was awesome on draws, and it showed. Very solid game.

Fun game, everyone played well individually, but wow, there were holes everywhere in the defensive zone.

Take it and run, boys.

WOHOO GO KINGS! It was fun seeing us score on the penalty shot. Anyone know the last time the kings scored on a penalty shot?

Quick was strong again today. Kept us in there. Doughty is gold on the PP

OT: oh and dont look now but Moulson had a hatrick tonight

Richardson looks SOOOO much better on the second line than Purcell. Glad he, Ivan and Harrold got benched in the third.

Raitis must have missed a spot when he was shining Terry's shoes between the 2nd and 3rd period.

Knew this would happen eventually... Nobody "hates" Brown - tonight, and as well as in the Chicago game, you see what happens when he is decisive. Far too often, since he fell into his rut in the middle of last season, Dustin plays tentatively and makes poor decisions because he overthinks things.

He was forceful and determined for the second time in the last three games. That's all I ask for - I couldn't care less if he scores 10 goals a season for the rest of his career. He can make a difference without ever touching the puck, but he just doesn't do it consistently.

Jones, I really don't like you or your play but you keep scoring, and im so torn.

SECONDARY SCORING.....before the 2 Williams goals, we had a goal from a 4th liner(I know he was on the 2nd), 3rd liner, and 2 defense men. Its good to see that we can win games without the top lines throwing up numbers.

Defensively we were kinda off tonight, honestly imo JJ is just as much at fault for the frolov give away as fro was, terrible place to make a drop pass. He kinda shifted the pressure from himself to fro, similar to the Kings 5th goal. Also Doughty/OD/Jones made a few i'll advised moves in the neutral zone.

JJ has really turned it on physically the last couple games, and coincidentally or not he has started to get some points to, hope he keeps it up.

Quick played good, D let him down none of the goals were his fault.

Kopitar goes down a little soft, glad he went back out after the spill, hope it was just getting the wind knocked out of him.
