I'm really surprised people are being negative about this not just here but other places too.

I mean like someone already said, theres nowhere to go but up. What could possibly go wrong?

Exactly, I'm really excited, Sixers are 5-14, it's not like they could get much worse.

Hate basketball, love AI. He is Philadelphia. Psyched he is back and hope the Sixers do well (I am assuming they aren't doing well at this point).

So much more psyched after seeing the PC. I think Jrue and Iverson will be the starters till Lou comes back and Iverson slides to the bench. Jrue plays great next to a scorer and Iverson could make things easier for the kid.

I don't think Iverson is going to be happy to have the ball in someone else's hands.

I think this is the only place where Iverson can understand his role at this age. And they talked about how part of why he is here is to talk to the guys when he is on the bench or practicing and show them how to succeed. I dont think Den or Det worked out because Denver won the detroit. Billups was obviously the better player at that time and so Iverson had to deal with the backlash of not being Billups. Memphis didn't workout because it was Memphis. As in he was brought into a team with guard depth but lots of suck and really who wants to be in Memphis. I think he's a lil humbled by the whole turn of events and knows that this is where he needs to finish playing basketball and he can rewrite the way he goes out.

Practice? I'll believe in this alleged team player version of Iverson when I see it.

I mean there will be games when he takes his shots but there will also be games where he doesnt. And yes he'll have the ball, but Jrue isn't ready to have the ball too much. Like I said Jrue was most effective with LouWill at the other guard and LouWill and AI are very similarly styled players.

Jrue? LouWill?

Nicknames are really getting creative these days.

Jrue without the ball is pretty useless on the offensive half of the court. Kid's not much of a shooter yet. Lou isn't going to flip **** like Iverson if he doesn't have the ball every play either. I just don't think it'll work.

Isn't 'Jrue' his actual name?

Disagree, Iverson won't flip and Jrue doesn't need to ball handle on every play. If Jrue has the ball too much he overthinks, he's 19. Jrue was most effective working with Lou and I see no reason why Jrue and AI cant complement each other. Jrue might not be much of a shooter yet but he isn't much of a decision maker yet. You have to work him in slow and build him up. Similar to what they did with Lou but Jrue has PG skills.

Jrue is his real name.

I know nothing of basketball, but I would go to a game here and there so having him back only makes me more likely to go to a game.

They suck right now right? So it cant hurt, right?

This is the only Sixers thread for the year unless they make the finals right?

We lose a top 3 pick because the Sixers win a few games.

That's worse then what we have now.

Sixers need to tank for Derrick Favors out of Georgia Tech.

He's going to be the next Amare Stoudemire.

I hope for his sake when AI decides to retire for real, he doesn't go into acting. My mom and I were crying from laughing so hard at that ****. I don't think I've seen someone cry like that since I subbed for kindergarten.

Are you suggesting these tears aren't real?

Well TO's a little *****. AI's little "act" last night was pure ********.

"Well, I'm....... I'm just so..... so..... hap-happy... to be back."

I didn't even see any tears. I saw his eyes gloss over like he was trying mighty hard to shed some, but it was a failed attempt.

Is he a Center like Dwight Howard? Cuz Howard is EXACTLY what this team needs. A defensive and offensive stud Center down low who dominates play.

No matter what we weren't as bad as our record. Anyway there are a few teams worse than us Nets, Knicks(Utah gets their pick), and Minnesota. And teams that would have been worse than this team at the end of the year anyway...1-2 western teams, Indiana, and Wiz or Charlotte. If Toronto doesnt learn how to defend, them too. This team always starts slow and gets better as the year goes on. And Popovich(San Antonio coach) says they are better than their record so the idea that they would sustain the 4th worst record over the season is a lil tough.
