Wolski + Liles package

I'm curious as to what the Avs might get in return for a package of this sort. Wolski has been excellent this year and is signed to a nice contract (2.8m, pending RFA), but he's not exactly the sniper the Avs need more, and still doesn't exude effort. Liles is also an excellent player in his prime and signed to a fair contract (4.2m, 2 years remaining after this one), but might be out by default with Shattenkirk coming and Cumiskey playing so well. You really can't have too many of those smaller guys, and Liles is the one with the most value in a trade.

Avs needs:

A first class defensive defenseman
Sniper LW
Picks for ongoing rebuild

Fire away.

P.S. I'm curious what Atlanta fans think of this package as a base (read: +picks/prospects) for Kovy, should he not re-sign with you.

Nope not enough for Kovy he is a top 5 players in the world IMO. Wolski is hit or miss. Liles is not going to make or break this deal lol.

A defensive defesemen. What we really need is to rid this team of Hainsey and his 5.5 mil per season.

haha you must strongly feel this way.

You have been offering Hainsey up for a 5th in any proposal thread

5.5? Liles is a bargain in comparison.

ASF....

Please get your facts right. Hainsey's deal is 4.5 AVG hit.

As for those wondering why he offers up Hainsey in every proposal. Hainsey is just the guy in ASF's dog house this week. He probably got sick of bashing Little, Pavelec, and Anderson. The only guys he never lets up on are Slater and Popovic. which is understandable.

It will be hard to get rid of Hainsey regardless. no one is going to touch that contract.

i really dont like the idea of the avs going after kovalchuk in a trade unless they KNOW they can resign him. he's a phenomenal player but even he can't propel this team to a championship this year as many of their problems are on defense as well. if they want kovalchuk i would think they will wait until july 1 (if he lasts that long)...

Colorado won't trade Wolski, Joe Sacco thinks he can be a 50 goal scorer just doesn't believe he puts in enough effort. Don't expect any Kovalchuk trades cause as long as the team is in playoff contention he is not going anywhere.

Kovalchuk is a pipe dream. He is staying in Atl or going to Russia IMO.

Liles will be traded this season IMO. The Avs are going to go with Cumiskey and Shattenkirk next season.

Oh, okay. I was going to say, Hainsey is a solid player, but 5.5/per is WAY too much for him. 4.5 isn't a horrendous contract, but it's not great either.

If Atlanta is really wanting to move him, he could fetch a fairly decent return. He'd get a pretty good top 6 player.
