True, so for whatever reason, there are too many followers on this team.

He pulled Nash, Huselius, Umberger, Stralman, Tyutin and replaced them with Hejda and co on the Power Play. There's your list. And he's right. That was the message sent loud and clear.

RJ Umberger gets it, that's who.

If Stralman and Juice are team leaders, we have bigger issues.

All that was about was saying "Don't want to check, fine, no fun power play time. Go to your room!" In other words, that wasn't about leadership, simply performance.

I believe RS' question was who was on the list and Hitch said he should know. I answered the question. I was not commenting on who the team leaders are. I did not say, nor imply that Stralman or Juice were team leaders.

Yeah, i saw that on PR. It's a shame Russell didn't get PP time at the end from what everybody said about him being the only one fighting for a win. I was fortunate to be coaching my daughter's team and thus missed the game so I am garnering that information from this thread.

who are they

The problem with this team is that I never know which team is going to show up on a given night.

Weren't we supposed to have an identity by now? Or is it the "chameleon team". We're always changing.

You didn't miss a thing!

I swear I still think making the playoffs was what knocked us out of kilter. It's almost like the boys, and they are very young boys, now are rewriting history, remembering how much fun that was and forget how hard they worked to get there. Last season was work until it all clicked and then the fun began. One of those can't see the forrest for the trees kinda deals.

I look at them and see more talent than we've ever had yet less results to show for it. Frustrating!! I see more stupid "skill" moves, meant to impress whoever, but always leave me and the scoreboard screaming "don't do that crap anymore!"

Just growing pains. That's all it is. We will get through it. Eventually. More bumps on the head and, thankfully, a parent (Hitch) who knows better than to throw the baby out with the bathwater....

Let's assume your right. Doesn't that mean they are a team whose leader is a 3rd/4th line player who is sometimes a healthy scratch? You're saying that's it? All the effective leadership on the team?

If Derek Dorsett is the key to this team's success, it's time for another rebuild.

Who are they? Simple

This team is a team who shows up and gets embarrassed once per week.

No need to jump off the ledge, folks. Just push Hitchcock over it instead.

Or, they remember the pain and utter humiliation the Wings laid on us ... and they don't want to suffer that fate again. Play like crap now, miss the internationally televised beatdown in April. Makes sense to me.

If you do a job bad enough, you probably won't get asked to do it again.

Oh, I was thinking of poor Mother Earth. Everyone always forgets the parents who have such heavy burdens to bear when their wayward children return to their embrace. Shameful.

You're totally missing the point. If you cant get behind a player who lays it on the line every game then that is the issue, not that he is the team's only leader. Since he got injured in the Dallas game the Jackets have won once. 1-3-2, coincidence? Maybe.

Dorsett may not be key, but he is a cog.

I was right behind the bench for this game...one thing I noticed, the coaching staff show ZERO emotion, and i think that works into it...if the coaches don't care, why should the players....
