Guys lets at least be a little positive here. Valley wasn't all that good and Johnson has shown that he is a solid goaltender in every league he's played in so don't doubt him in the dark. Also, Christensen isn't a bad pick up at all, he could help us with the faceoffs and he seems like a smart kid with talent..who knows he could do well with us, we shall have our first glance tomorrow night.

It's not a question of being positive or negative, it's being realistic. There are a lot of problems facing this team and they are not going to go away just because the backup goalie has been banished and a new project (who's only saving grace seems to be his face-off ability) gets picked up off the waiver wire. Sure, it might give a little boost to the team, but they are still facing a lot of holes in the lineup.

And one more thing, Johnson may get a start or two--but he's just keeping the seat warm until Valliquette can either play well enough to get recalled or the organization decides he's done and looks for a new backup. There is no way Johnson will develop riding the bench in the NHL, plus, I seriously doubt that after 20 starts as a professional (regardless of how well he did in college) he's ready to play meaningful minutes in the NHL. He gives the Rangers a little more time, but that's about all I expect from him. He's had a good start to his professional career, but he's not any sort of savior. Lundqvist has to play better and now he'll get his chance to right the ship.

Agreed.

This is the 1st move, it is meant to scare/motivate some people into playing hockey if it fails pack your bags because there is a good chance some over hauling happens.
