anyone who has been to the flyer board knows that there is has been a death watch on for the guy for awhile

The local media here in Philly were talking about possible coaching candidates and two of the reporters said MacTavish wouldn't be the choice because Pronger didn't like him. I never heard that before so I just chalked it up to as just another clueless comment from our uninformed hockey reporters.

MacT would be a good choice for the Flyers.

MacTavish is all class and very professional but I can see HIM having a problem with Pronger and not vice versa. Mac bleeds copper and blue.

MacT > Lavy. Too bad for the Flyers, back into obscurity!

Pronger actually was quoted the year after he was traded that MacT was one of the smartest coaches that he has played under. I believe that Peca was also quoted to say the same thing. MacT is a good, the oilers just don't got skill which is the truth and he got flamed for it. Nonetheless he had to go purely for the fact that a fresh face was needed.

I'm not sure if I recall correctly but I recall hearing that a lot of players did have problems MacT the year of the cup run. That wass before the playoffs and that stuff went away when the playoffs started. Either way Pronger would never say anything like that to the media.
