Chris Bourque back to Washington

If they're the only team that put in a claim, he can go straight to the minors.

I think they'd have to be, unless San Jose or New Jersey put in a claim.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense, huh? Didn't realize they were so high in the standings.

He's already been assigned to Hershey. I believe because of his salary he won't have to be put on re-entry if they want to give him a shot at some point.

So much for that experiment. The kid has talent, but not enough drive to make it at the NHL level. Good luck in Chocolatetown, Bourquey.

More like back to Hershey or the AHL for the rest of his miserable career. I wouldn't be shocked to see this guy eventually play overseas where he could make more than he does now...

Yeah, considering how long he's been in the AHL I doubt he's even considered anything but making the NHL. I haven't watched this kid play but I doubt he's been as bad as people say. Maybe he's been a non-factor but that might be because he hasn't realized his role. If he can be a gritty defensively responsible defensive player he can be a player. His AHL stats are not that bad he could probably chip in some goals at the next level.

Seems like a classic NHL version of a AAAA player.

He just looked a little overwhelmed. Maybe it was the talent surrounding him. Maybe it was nerves. Regardless, I think he'll be back in the NHL. And I wouldn't be shocked if he's playing against us in the playoffs for the Caps.

Good luck, Chris.

He got his taste of the NHL for a bit longer than the Caps would have given him. Maybe this will motivate him a bit more, but I agree that he's a career AHL star at this point.

Not surprising. I knew he'd end up back in Hershey in the long run.
