Maybe, maybe not. But the CBJ were closer than they ever were and he bailed. He could have been a leader, but he tucked tail. If he had been honest, I would not have a problem with him. Just come out and say it.

Foote was a suck in CBJ-land. The team got better after he left. Doesn't excus his behavior, but it does make me care less about it.

I'll be rooting from the front of Section 206 tonight.

it makes me sick to my stomach that Adam Foote is the captain of an NHL team after the **** that he pulled. That escapade should have eliminated him from consideration for captain of anything.

except captain of the SS *********

I am excited about this game. I want to win. Will be watching from home tonight, hoping for the best, hollering at the top of my lungs. Y'all can boo til the cows come home. I'll back you up. Not for me though. I'm not big into giving attention to those who have hurt me.

So I will cheer "LET'S GO JACKETS!!" and believe the best revenge is on the scoreboard.

I was an Avs fan before the Jackets, so Foote was one of my favorite players. He is exactly what this team is missing.....a nasty SOB, that if you so much as breath on the goaltender, you were paying for it! Had he lost a step due to age, yes but he's a nasty SOB, and this team sorely lacks that.

I dont like how it played out, but I completely understand the situation. Was Foote, the player, worth what he was asking for? No, but he wasnt just a player, he was the captain, one you expect to be the spokesman of the team, bleed for the team, and be the overall leader of the team. The team wasnt willing to pay for it. He made a mistake in leaving Colorado, I mean, whats the better backyard scenery, Rocky Mountains or the flat Columbus Ohio . So it was going to cost more to stay here then to go back home where he wanted to be, and we werent willing to pay it. I have no problem with that. At least he requested to be traded so we could get something for him, instead of playing out the season here and getting nothing. Yes he used his no trade clause to his advantage, thats why they have it, no? And for the private jet thing, I have to think it possibly played out as his agent saying the night before the deadline "it doesnt look like they'll pay what we want, lets have something ready". Or even if it was Foote's idea, they knew they werent going to sign. And its hardly an act of god to charter a jet (trust me, I work at jet charter company), so its not like he schemed this huge master plan to get out of Columbus. So any RJ fans out there need to be thankful that we got a 1st round pick for Foote that ended up getting RJ on this team. So to me, there was a little bit of SOB on Foote's side (not overly surprising with the type of player he is), and a little bit of cheap organization. But I wont be booing him
I have been at games where the CBJ crowd booed both Federov and Zherdev and I was uncomfortable with those occasions. After the crowd does that to two guys that didn't really deserve it or at least only marginally so, you bet your arse that old Footie should be lambasted by the crowd.

Footie should be booed more loudly than any player on any team to ever walk (or skate) into Nationwide Arena, that's just the place in Nationwide Arena history that the guy has earned plain and simple.

I am actually not bitter he's just a jackass that makes me want to be on the ice as #45 for the Jackets tonight so we could be exchanging some 1-2's and other appropriate maneuvers.

is quitting on your team when you're 5 pts out of the playoffs at trade deadline day a leadership quality?

you can be objective, but several CBJ fans feel that he quit on his team. Some people take it too far, but I hope he's in the starting line up so I can BOO him loud then. Maybe it'll only take one boo for me and a win, and I'll be objective then too. We'll see.

I just hope the CBJ come out strong and put their hearts in this game. GO JACKETS!

Both can happen. You do your part as fans, and the team will try to do their part, we hope.

if Zherdev got booed, there's no way in hell you can't boo Foote.

Hoping for a win

Last time I "talked" in this forum the Jackets won, so I'll be here tonight hoping to bring some luck.

Wish I could be in the Arena booing Foote!

Honestly, Zherdev deserves to be booed way more than Foote

So Raffi2 gets it. Says Raffi1's kid will be good looking if she looks like her dad.

That's just not correct at all.

I saw every CBJ game that both players played, I understand the contracts they each had, and I saw how they were treated by the club, the fans and what happened when each of them left. My opinion is both well informed and balanced.

I was also an Avalanche fan before the CBJ entered the league, going back to the days that they were the Nordiques. I was jazzed that the CBJ managed to get Footie when they did even though I knew he was getting a bit older. Used to be a big fan of his until he behaved so poorly.

FANS: PLEASE BOO HIM THE LOUDEST OF ANYONE EVER TO ENTER THE BUILDING,

AND

PLAYERS: PLEASE SHOOT GOALS IN OFF OF HIS SKATES. FACEPALM HIM AFTER YOU SCORE.

TREASON remains A PUNISHABLE OFFENSE.

Probably not, last time I saw 2 captains fight was in the Cup Finals a few years ago, when Lecavalier and Iginla fought.
