Yeah, yeah, you love Dekanich blah, blah, blah. It's not a surprising transaction at all, considering the solid play of Smith and the abhorred play of Dekanich.
I've been meaning to do this for some time now, but I'm moving the Milwaukee and Cincinnati updates to audio files since I now have access to audio editing software, although the production values aren't the greatest. Here's the Cincinnati update for today.. I'll have the Milwaukee update up shortly.

I'm not a Dekanich fan, he's an asset who may be depreciating because of Nashville's depth in goal. I went "WOW" as to the development of Smith. Frankly, I think this will really increase the values of all three goalies in a trade.
Santorelli was all over the ice tonight for the Admirals. Listening to the feed, Ads lead 4-2 near the end and Santorelli has a goal and three assists. I think Tristan Grant has a couple goals. (Yep, he had two. He shot into the empty net but was just a tick after the buzzer.)
Mark Dekanich will return to the Milwaukee Admirals Sunday. Dex played two games with the Cincinnati Cyclones - winning them both.
The plan was to have dex go down for the weekend and regain a little confidence - and it should work. He stopped 51 of the 52 shots he saw, and also stopped four shootout attempts - something that had been an achille's heel this season.

Santorelli did not have a goal. The scorers were Grant (twice), Jessiman, and Olvecky.
Oops. Thanks for the correction. I hate to put out bad information. I could have sworn I heard a goal and then was sure they even said a goal and three assists. Strange. I had the game on from fairly early but was only listening with one ear.
What's going on with Nick Spaling? I recall that he started training camp very well but he seems to be really struggling on the score sheet. Is he playing through an injury or not getting any pp time?
Is Maki still on schedule to return before the end of December? I'll be there for the game on the 28th and know that his possible return date was just about a week before that game, iirc.
Colin Wilson got his first AHL goal just a few minutes ago vs San Antonio. He hit a post on a powerplay in the second period but no goal. Now early in the third he was skating with Santorelli and Wilson won the face off back to Santo who shot, save made, Spaling try blocked also, Colin picked up the rebound and scored inside the far post. Vid on the Admirals website.
Spaling has had several good chances according to the radio call but it still goalless on the season.
Boedker is with San Antonio, was interesting hearing his name called a few times. One time when he checked Wilson as Wilson was trying to get a shot off.

He's off the schnide!!! Spaling banged home a goal tonight in Grand Rapids. Was named first star in the 3-1 win.
Yesterday they said the centers line of Wilson-Santorelli-Spaling had a ton of pressure and Spaling had several good chances with good saves by the goalie.
Laakso aggravated his injured shoulder (the same one that caused him to miss some games earlier in the season) when that ******* Hollweg jumped him (I still don't understand what the refs were thinking in that game). This according to my source, at least.
They still don't think it's serious (doesn't require surgery... yet), but in my opinion it doesn't sound good either...
Admirals won their fifth in a row tonight, at Hamilton. Wilson had a goal on one shot, (a deflection of someone's slapper) +1 on the night. Ads win 3-2. Outshot 33-17, but Pickard made 31 saves. Olvecky gets the one star (a goal and an assist), Pickard two, and some Hamilton guy.

I was wrong. It wasn't the same shoulder that caused him to miss games earlier in the season. It's the same shoulder that caused him to miss half of last season. I hear he has a slight tear in it (in a different place than last year). They apparently gave him a shot and hope to see him return soon. If he doesn't, it's most likely surgery again and another half a season missed.
I think they should've just cut him up when the problem first started... that way he might have been back for the playoffs, maybe...
