He has been a lot better this year, but in general it's all the little penalties he takes and stupid plays that he commits in the name of being an aggressive, in-your-face player. I love that he's a tough hockey player, but in my opinion, he is a liability out there not just for these big things, but for every dumb penalty he takes. I just don't think he brings the offensive upside that everyone talked about when he came over here that would balance the risk-reward. I think he's replaceable, with someone - anyone - that can bang bodies as well, drop the gloves now and again and avoid taking so many penalties and getting suspended like he does.
I dont know Carcillo is always in on the forecheck, and during the season he has been probally the most consistant player on the forecheck. Carter doesnt even know what that is. He isnt scoring goals like everyone expected but I think that will come. Yes, he takes bad penalties, but christ so does Hartnell.

Hahaha, yeah I know. I was going to mention Hartnell in my post, but forgot to.

Hartnell is the king of dumb penalties, but he at least produces offensively.

I think there was something going on prior, and maybe he was trying to fire the bench up. Iuno but it failed.

I mean look at Mika's goal that was all Carcillo that set that up, with a great fprecheck. I think Carcillo has the potential to be a top 6 guy, but he never will be. hes a 3rd liner at best, who will chip in points from time to time, and stirs the pot. Im not gonna try and put him up on a pedastol and say he is god because he isnt.

Are they your kids or OKT's?

Bill Meltzer said it looked like Bradley got his stick up near Carcillo's face. Still a pretty clean hit, but something that would piss Carcillo off.

No I mean earlier in the game, I dont know. But Carcillo gets pissed at mosquitos and ends up eating babies because of it. Hes kept his temper in check all year, there were times when he shopuld have gone nuclear, but didnt, and i was proud of him. Last night, he lost it, and got over penalized and is being unfairly criticized. I am hapy to hear Richards said something to him tho, as it shows Richards is finally manning up.

I can't believe some people actually defend this dirty SOB. He alone destroyed the game for us last night. He's standing in the penalty box yelling at the refs like a complete nutcase. Embarrassing. He's laying eggs all over the rink in every game. Homer says Carcillo's behaviour is a huge disappointment. What more do you need? Enough is enough.
Where? I just read on TSN that Homer disagrees with the suspension - which is a big deal because he has a history of rolling over and agreeing with the league on these decisions.

Great fight btw, I wish Carcillo could scrap the real way all the time.

Why do you have to bring OKT into every thread?

I'm the first to admit I hated bringing Carcillo here because I know how capable he is of snapping, but I was expecting stupid **** with his stick - that's how I saw him grow up. This suspension is BS. It was a fight, yes he instigated it, but Bradley was chirping him the shift before and knows how fights work. When you're standing across from Dan Carcillo after you've been chirping him and you just checked him, you should probably be dropping the gloves. Carcillo was just too fast and hit him with a wicked punch. 2 mins for cross-checking and 2 mins for instigating is fine. A 4 game suspension for a KO in a fight? **** that. There's been evidence of real sucker punches in the last year that haven't been suspended. This is all reputation.

However, that reputation is a big reason why I didn't want him here. As well as he's played, Carcillo's rep, much like Downie's, will always hurt this team.

I loved Downie too, but his sucker punch on Blake was worse than what Carcillo did last night.

But, in Downie's defense, it was against Blake.

I hate to blame the victim, but Matt Bradley is also one of the WORST in the league at protecting himself. I have NEVER seen Bradley get into a fight without seeing it end with his face being bloody, and up until this year, I got every single Caps game. That tells me that although he likes to fight and mix it up, he's never learned how to avoid blocking punches with his face.

Is it still Carcillo's fault for preempting it all? Yes. It's just too damn bad that he had to pick on a guy who consistently bleeds.

Corey Perry got 4 games for butt-ending Giroux in the head.

Who is this Duco?

Sorry, best video I could find. He knocked Giroux down at center ice before pummeling him as he covered up.

Carcillo acted like an idiot, but the call at the time was weak and this suspension is even worse. This league has no clue what they are doing

I'd like to thank the NHL for the excessive suspension since Carcillo hurts the team more than he helps.

Thanks, but probably need to be able to see what happened in the middle. Either way, Alexandre Giroux there, also a clean hit, no obligation to fight either. Giroux still has his gloves and stick too.
