First I heard of this....I hope everything is ok with him and he's back ASAP...I've always been a fan of him.

Paulie, you might want to come back because Mike Lundin is making you look very expendable right now.

I don't know about that yet, but I am very pleased with what I've seen so far. His play should keep him in the line up.

I don't think we'll hear anything until he's back. We'll ge an occasional "he's doing fine' comment, but until whatever is resolved that caused him to leave is fixed....we won't hear detailed updates.

I just assume he's gone for the season. If he comes back that's great, if not then it's pretty much what I expect anyway.

Yeah i'm in that same boat now. I think hes done.

Good and bad. Good, because we're not ready to compete now, and hes up for a contract, and this drives his price down.

Bad because, well, we don't have Paul Ranger in the lineup.

Friedman has taught us both well. I was thinking of his contract status a few days ago about how he will have to sign a "prove it" contract.

Haha, exactly. You start finding value in every bad situation.

Damn fine way to think.

This really sucks because it's now less likely that we'll trade Krajicek, aka no-check.

If Ranger comes back I bet it's Foster that sits.

There is no meat behind this, as in a tip from the team or anyone involved or anything but my suspicion has long been that Ranger is done in Tampa, for whatever reason.

If something happened that was so important for him to tend to and it wasn't a family death or illness - if it were, at least a few of us would have heard about that, as there's no need to keep that under such tight wraps - how can you justify being away from the team for this long?

This has been a bizarre situation from the beginning and I just can't see him coming back here.

I do, of course, continue to wish him all the best.

JJ

I don't follow the Bucs that closely, but the Aaron Sears situation was kept under tight wraps as well and he's now back with them after being away for a few months.

True. (Not a Buc guy either.)

I just don't understand the mystery of it all (unless it's something really embarrassing - and I'm not going there because I refuse to speculate on a personal matter).

Because we don't know (and, truly, nobody does) it really could be anything.

His former road roommate, D Kurtis Foster, said Ranger texted him "a few days ago."

"He says he's doing okay, but he just needs some privacy," Foster said. "Whatever he's dealing with, he's still working on it."

I'm just pissed off. If it's really because he's through in TB, we deserve to know and if not, get him back asap because I'm gonna end up going Jeff Galooley on LK if he keeps playing.

Ranger sure would be an upgrade over Foster or especially Krajicek right now. I could defend Krajicek at times last season but this season hes just been terrible. Please just waive Krajicek.

Whatever Ranger is going through, I think it would be for the best if we all just forgot about him, until its announced hes going to return. Which honestly at this point might not happen till after x-mas, if at all.
