WOW! What a game. The Kings played as good a game as they've played all year. There were still long stretches where the Flames controlled the game though.
The PP that resulted in the second goal was by far the best PP I've seen by the Kings all year.
I think they learned from the last game against the flames what it takes to compete against one of the best teams in the league.
A buddy had an extra ticket to a suite for the game but I couldn't go because I had to work a retirement party for the fire chief of Anaheim. Apparently he's a huge Duck fan. They gave him a jersey signed by the team and I had to listen to Parros, Niedermayer and Selanne wish him a happy retirement in a video. I was doing audio and was very tempted to mute it during that stupid video.
All played very well, except for Jack Johnson and Ivanāns (..)
Completely disagree. Ivanans actually DREW a penalty tonight. That alone makes it one of his best games of the year. Plus he got in a fight which is the reason he is there. As much as I think Ivan needs to go, he played his role well tonight. Finally.
I also thought JJ had a real good, physically defensive game.
Kings forwards played a strong defensive game especially in the last 2 periods. Kopitar, Williams, Brown, Simmonds, Handzus, Richardson all deserve kudos. Hell even Purcell made a couple of good defensive plays.
Stoll was strong, hitting people tonight as well as making a nice move to the net on his goal.
Good to have Scuderi back, a rock on the back end defending a one-goal lead.
Greene was just a warrior. Even the penalty he took, showed that he was in it to battle tonight.
What can you say about Doughty. That boy absolutely does it all.
Quick was definitely on his game. The Flames hit a couple of posts but in each of those cases, it seemed to me that Quick was dialed in and had the correct angle.
Flames are a tough team to beat. Sharks couldn't do it the other night at the Shark Tank. Good job Kings.
I hope you just forgot Frolov, because he had a hell of a game tonight.
