14 goalies have started more games than Emery this year. He had sufficient time between games many times this season because of the erratic schedule. If wear and tear is affecting him already, he'll never be a full-time starter.
If he was still starting the same ratio of games throughout the season, and he was clearly being overworked, I might agree with you.
Why not take advantage of the schedule and get the even more rest for later in the season, all the while getting your backup into a groove?
