Also, one of the coldest teams in the league in Edmonton (unintentional lulz), is winning 4-1 going into the 3rd.

Note to anyone from the Hurricanes front office who may be reading this:

Make sure these are waiting in his locker when he comes back.

You'd think he would wear them after 2 injuries due to not wearing them, but who knows. I wonder if we'll find out.

Still on track for Wednesday.

Quote:
The Canes' plan still is to have Cam Ward make his first start in goal against the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday, coach Paul Maurice said today.

Ward had another productive day of practice today at the RBC Center before the Canes left for their four-game road swing. But Maurice would rather wait one more game before giving his No. 1 goaltender his first real test, so Manny Legace should start Monday in Pittsburgh.

"We're not planning on having him back up in Pittsburgh -- if he's ready to back up, he's ready to play," Maurice said. "It will allow us to get another real good work day in, and then have a recovery day in practice and then be ready for Jersey.

"If we get to Tuesday and he gets through practice and he still doesn't feel right, then we'll just push it back. ... I'm putting him back as soon as he's ready."

As expected, he's back.

RALEIGH, NC—Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has activated goaltender Cam Ward from the long-term injured list. Ward has missed the Hurricanes’ last 13 games after being cut on his leg by a skate in Carolina’s game at Columbus on Nov. 7. He is eligible to play in the Hurricanes’ game at New Jersey on Wednesday, Dec. 9.
