Will Ovechkin top his career high 65 goals this year?

He has 20 in only 22 games played this year, if he didnt get injured then suspended IMO he would easily have 26+ and leading the league in goals. He needs 46 goals in the caps remaining 52 games for him to beat his career high of 65. I think as long as he stays healthy he can score 66 this year.

I think he can, the injuries/suspension will hurt his total but I wouldn't put it past him.

Assuming he plays w/o injury and suspension (I'd never thought I'd have to say the latter) for the rest of the season, I think he will beat his previous high by one or two goals.

I'm thinking 66. That would be something.

He can if he doesn't slump around the Olympics. He's got more at this point in the season than he did during his 65 goal year, so it's just a matter of keeping the fire at the right time. Don't know if I think he'll do it.

I doubt it. With the Olympics thrown in he's going to play an awful lot of hockey over the next few months. I wouldn't be surprised to see BB cut his minutes in the last month of the regular season if the Caps are locked into a high seed in the East.

If Russia wins gold and Ovechkin is the MVP, then I can see him going on a ridiculous hot streak to finish the season.

Otherwise, injury and suspensions will probably make him fall short.

i can see him resting himself a little bit for the olympics, and at the end of the season if the caps have already clinched the playoffs. the year he got 65 the clinched the last day of the season.

Assuming Ovy plays almost all games left this season he's gonna finish with around 65-70 games, so no i dont think he'll hit 65. 50 goals sound more realistic but even that is one hell of accomplishment.

50-60 goals, I'd say he'll finish with.

I'm in the 50-60 goal camp, although I think it will be 55-60.

In 72 games? Awesome.

In his 65 goal year he scored 20 goals in the caps first 30 games. After 30 of the caps games, he has 20, while playing only 22 of them.

He could come close to that, but i said he wont even top 55 because I seriously think he might get injured again this year.

i say 55-60 goals w/o injuries

74 games and I think he can break 65. Look how efficiently he's scoring. He's not leading the league in shots this year either.

I don't think he will, but he will have a higher Goals Per Game percentage than his 65 season
