Oh boy. Here's hoping that his defensive game has improved.

Same here. He was doing a good job when he was sent down and now the fact that he's not called up despite the reports by the posters who sees him regularly, it just doesn't look like he's outplaying Carle....

Let's trust Boucher's judgment.

Its a scheme to shoot his confidence up. We don't risk much by doing so except increasing his value.

A bit strange that they went with Weber instead of Carle... Last time Carle was called up, I thought he played well. He certainly did better than Weber.

Weber is a good player though... Hopefully, he'll be able to gain some confidence back and play with more poise.

This is why you wonder about the Habs brain trusts. Carle has been a better player in the AHL and also for his brief stint with the Habs. Yet Weber who has struggled both offensively and defensively gets the call.

Based on that, might not be a bad idea. He could also have become expendable. Still, he doesn't seem to have the greatest confidence down there, he'd be surprising he'd showed great things right from the start so that he'd be interesting for other teams.

But we never know. He might surprise us. He has the natural talent to do it.

lol at those judging Boucher/Gainey/Martin on that one. They know something you don't.

Weber's upside is way higher than Carle's. A good stint in Montreal could mark the start of a good sequence for him.

Young players can improve. I mean with that kind of reasoning, we should never call him up again.

Upside shouldn't have nothing to do with calling up a kid for a short period of time. We are not talking about a trade here or their value for the next 10 years. You have to get a guy who'll help you short term and who has a lot of confidence to play in higher levels. You have to think that Carle had a lot of confidence with the way he played here while at the same time Weber struggled....in the AHL.

Again though, I would have went with Carle, but you are right that if Boucher had a word on this and recommended Weber, we don't have a lot to say, especially the posters, like me, who hasn't seen the Dogs play too much.

It might be, for Weber, just what the doctor's ordered.....we'll see. Anyway, if it doesn't work and we don't have any one of Mara or Spacek back short term, send him back and call Carle.

Considering every call-up lately is players with the dedication to work hard, and considering Weber has nearly no points with the 'Dogs, I'm betting his overall game has improved since we last saw him

Well it's official anyway on RDS.ca in regards to Weber being called up

I wonder how long Spacek will be out?

Maybe he's just a gametime decision and they want another d-man in the building in case.

My thoughts exactly. I like the move, i think he'll be solid and i think it's a good time for him to be up in a more positive situation. Though, i don't think the motive behind this is to increase his value.

kind of surprised he gets the call ahead of Carle, guess they wanted to "spread the love"

Subban has outplayed both of them from what I hear, but I am glad they are letting him stay there and build confidence, no need/use to mess up his rhythm done there, and besides, what the hell would they do if he came up and "took" a top 4 spot can't start sending mara or gill down...

PK is definitely outplaying the both of them... I'm happy they're letting him stay in the AHL, he'll come up ready to shine.
