Calgary/Chicago trade proposal

Assuming a new CBA in place.......

would you guys take:

Brent Krahn
2006 2nd rounder

we get:

Yakubov

Chicago gets: streaky career backup in Krahn. not a bad draft pick thrown in

Calgary gets: potential 2nd line center with huge offensive upside

Chicago already has Leighton, Anderson, Brodeur, Crawford, and Munro. The last thing they need is a goaltending prospect right now.

OK I'll play nice and throw Iginla and Phaneuf into the deal. What do you say?

Its not that bad of a deal, but the Hawks have several young goalies better than Krahn. How about we just swap Yakubov for Radulov and you can keep Krahn?

No thank you.

I think Yak will start off on the 3rd line and work his way up to the 2nd.

We have our own goalie prospects.

No thanx Yak has really taken a step forward this year

We have crawford-best in qmjhl (probably chl too)

Brodeur- Best in whl last year

leighton & andersson both have potential to be starters

Munro has potential also

Brodeur was good last year, but no way was he better than Josh Harding, Cam Ward, or Kelly Guard. Not the best in the WHL by quite a margin.

Crawford best in the CHL? We'll see... I do like what I hear, though.

Krahn's done very well this year, but Anderson looks great as well. Leighton should be better. I wouldn't sell any of those goalies short in their organization. Krahn can still be a #1 now that his injuries seem to be in the past.

Yaks... I wish the scoring machine of the WHL would get going in the AHL, but he seems to finally be finding at least some touch in the pros. Hopefully he can stick in the N as a 2nd liner for the HAwks, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Streaky? The guy took Cam Ward's job. Krahn's been injury plagued through out his career so far, and he's healthy this year, and putting up some incredible numbers. This deal makes NO sense.

If the Flames really wanted Yakubov, we would have taken him with our pick rather than Krahn

Krahn fills the void that the Flames have in goalies in their 20's with potential to be NHL'ers

and plus, (dont beat on me for saying this) I'm not entirely sold on yakubov either
