Could not vote for anyone other than Dogge Murray due to me being biased and of course him being a great physical player who knocks players out.. but Volchenkov, Phaneuf and Kronwall are great choices too.

Kinda wondering were Chris Neil is? Hits like a truck, ask Avery, Hedman, Little, Drury etc. He was 2nd in hits before he got injured, and has lead the league in that category before.
I couldn't find a clip but lucic had a couple real nice hits in the short time he was back from injury. One on Henrik Tallinder and the other on Barret Jackman.
Not to say Lucic isn't a good hitter...but even I could light up Henrik Tallinder. That's not really that impressive.
Voted for Jaques. It seems like every game he has at LEAST one bone crushing body check and it's almost never dirty. Not to mention the guy is really good defensively and I really feel like he deserves more than 2 goals.
Clutterbuck, Neil and Brown for most hits. Neil of the 3 makes the biggest hits.
Stuart, Phanuef, Kronwall for most head on colisions.

Murray can absolutely crush people any way he wants to. Nobody can counter check oncoming for checkers like him, even Chara. For every time he is knocked down 100 guys have been knocked down trying to check him. When he decides to crush people in open ice watch out. someone said it perfectly when he said he is a human bulldoser in front of the net. I remember Morrow was wackin' away at Nabokovs pads one game, Murray came in and pushed him about 10 feet into the corner. I try not to be a homer but this guy deserves it.

This is not a poll of hardest, which Boogaard wins by default anyways, but best, and i admitted to forgetting him because he has been rather silent this year. IMO Clutterbuck hits just as hard as lucic and way more too

For the Pens are best hitters are Cooke, Adams and Orpik. Cooke and Adams aren't huge hitters but they always make you pay on the forecheck. What I like about Orpik is he punishes guys in the corner and doesn't gamble to much lining up big open ice hits (which is why he doesn't have as many "youtube" hits) only going after open ice hits when he is covered. Tough choice but I went with Clutterbuck.

Agreed you rarely see Orpik making big open ice hits, and usually they aren't spectacular, but he can torment people down in the corners, you don't wanna be in the corner when Orpik is there
Imo, it's between Murray, Volchenkov, Clutterbuck, Kronner and Phaenuf. Kronwall and Phaenuf are just devastating hitters, Clutterbuck hits everything that moves, Volchenkov's solid as hell and Murray's just a beast and a wall on ice.
I think I'm gonna go with Murray because he's the one who I think is least likely to get caught out of position when making his hits.
Not sure who the best is but Armstrong is the strangest, by far. He's got terrible balence, he's scrawny and rather weak but he can just devastate people. Usually the best hitters have a good center of gravity and some bulk.
