Fantasy Query:
I have already made this trade and it's somewhat paid dividends, but did I get shafted here?
Mike Richards (my team) receives Mike Richards, Pavel Kubina, Johan Franzen and Carey Price.
Dirty Danglers receives Ryan Getzlaf, Shea Weber and Tim Thomas.
Basically I'm a homer and I wanted Cannon (since my team name was in fact Mike Richards and I felt stupid that I didn't get him in the draft.)
I also needed goals, and let's face it, Getzlaf wasn't scoring that many.

I think the other guy won the deal, but Getzlaf and Thomas' not so great start to the season lowered their value.

To be honest, unless this is a keeper league, you got taken.
Getzlaf and Richards are close fantasy wise. Shea Weber is a 20+ goal scoring defenseman, one of the best defensemen in the east fantasy wise other then Mike Green (who is basically a forward, haha). Tim Thomas beats Price IMHO. Not to mention, Franzen is on IR anyway right now, and is a decent Center, but Center is quite deep usually.
Generally, when I make trades, quality always beats quantity unless you have a lot of guys on IR for the season.

How many teams are in your pool? Your team is stacked.

Well I just traded made a great trade (at least I think so) in my deep 30 team fantasy league:
I received:
Tim Thomas and the teams 4th round entry pick (currently 26th in the league)
I gave up:
Ryan Jones, Maxim Mayorov, and my 2nd round entry pick (Currently 5th in the league)
I needed to get a goalie since my starter was Emery and this is an absolute steal for Thomas.

Outstanding trade for you. The other guy got ripped off as far as I'm concerned.

Looks like Jones got off the bench, 16:46 last night with a powerplay assist.
