Bergeron is such a tough call. No doubt he is helping us. But how much money will he get if he continues and will he be worth it? Will we have a real spot for him at an increased salary? I mean he is perfect at this low rate, no worry about keeping him out of the lineup, playing him as a fourth liner, whatever, its worth it, but we are in tight financial situation next year and I don't think he'll fit... I guess the good thing is we are getting help from him when we need it and there is still 50 games plus of course a long long playoff run to judge his real value or our need for a player of his type next year.
Ideally though I think we'd fill his spot from 'inside' by one of the youngsters or perhaps with Markov's help we won't rely on him as much. Markov is so very important to the PP after all...
Glad I'm not making the decisions I guess is all I'm saying, so many tough ones!
I was really confused with the Ian White reference, but it makes sense now after reading some of the other posts. Pretty funny stuff.
BUT, let's be honest here, the Habs forum isn't immune to having some RIDICULOUS trade offers that would even rival the White-for-Pleks deal (that the Leaf fans wouldn't want anyways )
While our board is far from immune to stupid trade proposals, these usually don't draw that much consensus from posters. Reading that thread about Plek-White trade proposal, it seems like 100% of their fans agree that White > Plekanec.
