thanks god we have a olympic month in 2010. means a few weeks for recovering.
but i doubt that we are much better with all guys on board.
guys who were out for month usually don't fit in after the first game. means franzen and co. need a couple of games to gain all their power and focus.
if we didn't catch a playoff spot until end of january it will be to late i guess.
we need aprox. 94 points to reach the playoffs.
we are now at pace for 91 points. but loosing cleary will drop our pace a bit in the next few games.
playing too much osgood will drop it very fast.
damn, we are more a farmteam with dats and zetter then a comperable nhl team.

This is by no means a method of making us win NHL games now, but because like I said, Leino isn't doing anything for the team anyways, I don't think it really affects the outcome if we will win the game or not, but it does possibly give some valuable experience to our kids for those 2-3 games.
Mursak and Tatar aren't physically ready to handle first line AHL minutes let alone 3rd/4th line NHL minutes. They would get destroyed out their.

No need to even worry about "impact" at this point.
Well said. A few of those guys wouldn't get the call (Oulahen because he is injured, Rissmiller is Rangers property, Emmerton isn't quite ready yet) and I would add Ritola to that list, but you got the right idea.

Didn't know Oulahen was injured, and I thought the Rags cut ties with Rissmiller -- oh well.

Ritola is one of those "tweener" guys. Next season will be his big one, and he's developed quite nicely in his two seasons in GR, but I don't think he's quite ready for the N.

Meh. Its nice to be able to give a **** about the top 10 draftees for once, seeing as how we have a legitimate chance at nabbing one this year.

I would love to see Mursak or Tatar get a chance at 10 minutes a night, including some PP time.

I threw my hands up in the air when I saw it was a month. I think Mursak in a limited role might not be a bad idea, but I never would have said that at the beginning of the season. I think my judgment may be clouded by grief... Andy Delmore at forward anyone?

How Detroit is not on some people's short lists of teams most ravaged by injuries this year is beyond me. Unbelievable what they've been given to deal with. It's especially frustrating because it was going to be really interesting to see how they performed this year having lost a few semi important players, Nik starting to decline (based on the 4-5 games I've seen) and the goaltending situation. But with all the injuries, how can you even evaluate the first half of the season?

Oulahen has been out all season I believe but they rarely mention it. And that could be true about Rissmiller but either way he isn't Wings property... yet.. (and hopefully never, good player but too many turnovers! doesn't fit the system) Ritola, Williams, and Newberry Holland listed earlier in the year were their top 3 choices of forwards to be called up if needed, and since then Ritola has been the biggest producer of the 3.

Also as much as I would love to see Mursak up, we need to give him at least a full season to figure out how to play dominating hockey against AHLers before we get him into the NHL.

It's either we start winning like mad, or we do the old tank.

I'm with you. My worst fear is this team ending up with the 14th overall pick.

You can only overcome so much

This team is getting destroyed by injuries and it might not be a bad idea to end the playoff streak this season.

After all, this team realistically wasn't going far after four straight WCF appearances and two straight SCF appearances. Sooner or later, fatigue sets in.

Besides..it will just give all the whiners and criers more material to ***** about and treat this team like it's a Playstation game.

Yes, they did...Taylor Hall or Seguin will be going to Boston next season . Thanks Leafs!

It's going to be weird to be able to draft relatively early in the 1st round this year. Hope we get a good pick.
