What do the Kings do when Smyth comes back?

The Kings, for the first time in a long time, might have too many good forwards. Moller and Parse are both playing pretty well and if Purcell can get anything going... (he has looked better in the past couple of games)

Well my question is, who goes where? Smyth has to be put back on the top line. Does Fro rejoin Handzus and Simmonds on the third? Does that bump Parse up to the second line with Stoll and Brown or down to the fourth with Richardson and Moller? Where does Purcell fit, he isn't exactly a fourth liner.

My guess is that Moller will be sent down, though I think he has played pretty well. Man, if he could beef up or was a bit taller, he would be a force.

Smyth-Kopitar-Williams
Parse/Purcell-Stoll-Brown
Frolov-Handzus-Simmonds
Ivanans/Purcell/Parse-Richardson-Moller/Harrold

I dunno. Just wonderin'.

I like Moller better than Purcell but I don't know if TM shares my enthusiasm.

Ivanans will probably play, though. His intimidation is too big of an asset to throw away.

I would go

Smyth/Kopi/JW
Parse/Stoll/Brown
Fro/Zeus/Simmonds
Moller/Richardson/Ivanans

DrD/Scud
OD/JJ
DaD/Greene

Purcell in for Ivanans if the other team is on the softer side.

Jones is producing offensively, but man he drives me nuts often defensively. I'd rotate him in to rest players as needed to keep people fresh. Harrold can also fill this role for rest/injuries.

Anyone catch the Canucks game last night...They had Glass, Rypien and Hordichuk dressed....Rypien had a great fight....thats the energy 4th liners are supposed to bring and instead we have Richardson surrounded by either a young skilled player, a struggling skilled player, or a converted defensemen....

Kings really need that agitator type....Clune, Clifford...I don't care who but someone to play with Richardon-Ivanans that can play, skate, kill penalties and add grit.

I think we can all agree between Parse, Purcell and Moller....Parse has played the best.

Agreed. I don't think there's anyway they can ship Parse back to Manchester and look good doing it.

I can't disagree with you there. The question is, what good is Purcell on the fourth line? It's a waste for him and for us to be skating there. Once Segal comes back, I think we keep him on the fourth line and waive/trade Purcell. As for Moller, I love the kid but it won't hurt to have him play on the top line in Manchester for the rest of the year.

I could definitely see Purcell getting waived or traded at this point.

Well, I know you will get some grief for this but I think you are on the right track. You are looking to create 4 lines that can score. I would put Purcell on the 4th line where he belongs and Frolov on the 2nd, but other than that, I am on board with this craziness.

It will not happen though.

I'd be curious to see Smyth on Stoll's line his first game back. Not so much to see Smyth with Stoll, but to see if simply having Smyth in the lineup, even if he is not playing with Kopi, has any effect on Kopi. Obviously changing the lineup just to conduct a psychological experiment on Kopitar is not in the teams best interest in winning whatever game that is, but still, I'm very curious. If Kopi played like he did with Smyth on his line with Smyth in the game but not on his line, it would say a lot about Kopi's real problem lately and how much of it is purely mental vs actually needing Smyth to create space for him.

Frolov-Richie-Moller was a really fun line to watch.

And Ivanans helps this how? The guy can't catch up to anyone to hit them, nor does he have any idea how to do it in the off lucky chance somebody bumbles their way onto his tracks. Möller on the other hand, actually is able to hit people. Sure he bounces off like a flea because he only weighs 75 pounds, but at least he makes contact.
