I said Toivonen would come back and take the starting job from Bishop and if we need a goalie call it, it should be Ears over Big Ben. Will it be? Who knows, but he deserves it over Bishop.

Bishop will never be the starter for the Blues, I just don't see it..

As far as Sonne, he tore it up in the WHL, I'm not really impressed with alot of guys that come out of there, when I lived in Oregon, I settled for Portland Wintherhawks hockey, at the time, both Marcel Hossa and Paul Gaustad were ripping it up for Portland...Gaustad is a checker IMO in the NHL and who knows where Marcel Hossa is

Rivermen rookie enforcer Anthony Peluso bloodied big Manitoba center Dusty Collins at the end of their second-period bout, landing an uppercut to Collins’ nose that staggered the Manitoba player.

The Rivermen are playing right now and Wagner already gave up the puck and The Griffins scored unassisted. lol!!!

Last night The Rivs scored 7 goals, but Sonne did not have one point and was just a plus +1.

I think he is done. Seems like his confidence is shot.

No surprise. The question is if he will break the lineup later this season or wait till the next.

Yeah, and I think that's what's going on. But its not like his game will stop developing if he gets called up, either. My point is just that he may be good enough to help the team full-time before this season is over.

Mostly I'm just excited for his future.

The great thing about Eller is that Blues management does not have to worry whether he'll fly the coop. He has such a good nature and is genuinely having fun in Peoria that, for me, he's fine in either place right now.

I would like to see Eller stay down in Peoria and work on further conditioning his shoulders. Thats the only thing that worries me about him.

I think the point is that this is what the Blues have decided is in Eller's best interest.

Per pjstar.com, Rivermen getting two more players in addition to Pelletier.

On Wednesday, they expect to complete with Syracuse a second trade, in which Peoria will get right wing Brock McBride for future considerations in a separate deal.

Peoria did, meanwhile, grab ex-NHL defenseman Matthew Spiller on a 25-game tryout contract to help shore up a defense unit that has been working around some injuries.

Eller is a center but where would he play on the Blues next season if he becomes a full time NHL player?

Left wing or center. I think he's playing left wing in Peoria.

How is Chris Porter playing? I have always liked Porter's game, would love to see him get a chance over BJ Crombeen right now (28games without a goal)

From pjstar.com

----

“Bishop is getting to the point where he understands the position and the league, and has himself prepared for every game,” said Rivermen head coach Davis Payne, after the goaltender won his fifth straight start. “He did a good job again, made the right plays, controlled what was going on. He’s been doing that for several games.”

Finally Big Ben seems to be putting it together. I think our patience for goalies, as fans, is pretty weak. We want them all here now, but in reality most of them take quite a while to develop.

He will probably need at least another year down there though.

I'd be OK with that..Resign Mason and you still have Conks under contract next year, not every single goalie that comes through a system is going to be MA Fleury, goalies take the longest to develop

I'd try and get Barulin over here SOMEHOW.
Maybe approach him after the season and Mason's contract is up and say, "We've got an open spot and we want you to fill it. You could end up starting for this team and we want to see what you can do. Don't you?"
