exactly, he made up his inconsistancy with some brilliant saves. Im still waiting to see where Cammalleri was 2nite. Spacek horrible also

Kovalchuk's goal came on Price's glove side.

It's really great to hear that Markov is close but you never hear anything about Gio.
Brian Gionta doesn't exist.

Much like the fabled Leprechaun of Ireland, the North American Gionta was created to represent faith in an unattainable goal. The Leprechaun providing it's captor with a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, Gionta providing secondary scoring in '2-3 weeks'.

Deserved to lose.
The way I see it with the penalty issue is the fact that we are always pursuing the opposition, this leads to penalties......We cannot draw penalties because there is no sustained pressure..... I only saw 2-3 organized rushes all night...... Our goal scores must have wicked shooting percentages......Markov alone cannot fix this mess.

As far as Price is concerned, I prefer his game against Pittsburgh 'cause his overall game was steady except for the Dupuis shot. Tonight he was shaky, came with game saving saves for sure. And in the last moments of the 3rd permitting his team to come back. But he battled the puck all night.

His fault? Well maybe not. But he wasn't at his best. He gloves the puck on the 2nd goal and we may be running home with a win. Yes, he saved us a couple of time. But I've seen games where he made those saves AND the most ordinairy ones as well. We have the team that we have right now and we need an extraordinairy goalie most of the nights.

Resign yourself to the fact that, this ain't gonna happen, he's a playmaker....hopefully when Gio comes back, it'll give the Habs 2 scoring lines.

Fantastic!

The Habs got a point. Good for them, great result. All they can hope for, and they'll need that later on.

Surprised that I'm so pumped about this result? Okay, can we say things honestly now that the Habs are losing like they're really supposed to?

This team is playing like a lottery team, possibly a 30th-place team. They're getting badly outshot, out-PP'ed, out-everythinged, by everyone, and are getting by solely on insolent luck and a smoking hot goaltender. And these days a decent enough PP.

They have the talent to be better, but not the system. How do I know that? Because they used to be better. Back near the beginning of the season, around games 10 to 15, they would decisively outplay teams, outshooting them handily, too. They wouldn't always win, thanks to bad luck and shaky goaltending, but they were a good team with bad luck. Right now they're the reverse, and that is not a good thing.

Right now, the extent of their strategy is "hang on for dear life, pray the other goalie sucks". I dearly hope to God that is not the system, and they are too good to need to play that game. But they have no transition game, they spend entire games in their end, it's a blazing miracle they only lose by one goal when they lose.

Let's just hope Markov is as much a game-changer as we hope he is and that he can singlehandedly cause the Habs to start having a transition game. Let's just hope that Martin's system has a steep learning curve. Because right now, I am not impressed with the Habs' game, and my finger tends to point at the coach. His horses are better than what he's been showing.

But the bottom line is this: Montreal is a bad hockey club, and has been bad for double-digit games. They were a bad hockey club when they were winning and they are a bad hockey club when they lose; that 5-1 loss by Boston was clearly an anomaly, and let's be honest, we ought to send chocolates to Boston for not crashing the centennial party. At this point, any points they can scrape together, by hock or by crock, is great, until they solve their problems. And while I've decided to apply some patience because everyone seems to think Martin is the bomb and we have big-time players coming back from injury, I can't shake the feeling that the solution will have to come from behind the bench and I am not sure the personnel in place is capable of finding it.

People seriously need to lay off of Gomez a bit now. He played a great game, set up a goal, could've had another assist if SKost finished, and was a beast on the PK. All he needs is Gionta back so he can rack up those points some more.

Seriously, enough with the hating, he's been playing very well since coming back.

He isn't a scorer, set up a couple of chances tonight witch guy didn't put the puck in the net,he played very well and broke up a few Atlanta rushes coming back and helping out

Metropolit was totally frustrated that no call was handed out 3 seconds before as he took a punch in the face and then since NO CALL then he swung his stick back at the guy and then Metro got called.
SO once again the REFS hand a loss to the Habs.
Call the game properly right to the end and it's the Habs that have a Power Play and NOT Atlanta. Result= Habs get skrewed by the REFS again.
