Oh same here. But I'm not sure he would even get that under Torts being benched by the 2nd period of every game. Kotalik sucks. But I will take his shot over Zherdevs dekes. Also I'd take Zherdev for 1 year @ 3.9 over Kotes for 3 yrs. But the best choice as someone mentioned earlier would have been Antro for 4 mil. But even that is iffy.

Do people actually want Zherdev back on the team or just want him over Kotalik? I'd like to see Zherdev back just for the sole purpose to see him fail again to refresh some of your memories.
if by failing you mean 23 goals 35 points assists.. sure.
Kotalik wont even SNIFF that.

EDIT: I take that back.. he may. maybe

Kotalik hasn't exactly been immune to Torts benchings either.

Both, the biggest problem Kotalik have is that he forced to fill in Zherdev's shoes too. Go deep and collect the puck et c.

True. And I want all three on this team.

Too big of the gap between Gaborik and the rest.

Antropov is much better than Zherdev if he's healthy, which he has been this year. No hint of attitude problems solid hockey player, brings that rare combination of size and great hands and vision...not to knock Zherdev but I'd much rather have Antropov on this team.

Fair enough that you just plain prefer Antro over Z & K. No argument there. Antro is big and skilled, but he's also slow and soft. Last I looked he's not been burning it up in Hotlanta either. Give me Z every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Compare Antro and Z's production year by year and, in my mind at least, Z is the better player. Antro would have been nice to have on the team. But both are gone so who cares really.

btw - don't look now, but Kotalik is playing up to his level. Getting almost no 5 on 5 time.

He's putting up a point per game in atlanta and is getting 1st line minutes and top pp minutes.

I'd wager that Zherdev playing first line and top pp minutes in Atlanta would be doing at least that well too.

However, taking Antro out of the mix - how many people are starting to wish they could change their vote on this one...?

I would've preferred Zherdev ovr Kotalik (that was well-documented this summer).

Having said that, Zherdev's price was probably a tad too high.

They both are good at different things. Looking back, I would have rather just had neither.

Z-man all the way

dont get me wrong i am a fan of kotolik

but zherdev needed more time with the rangers to fully hit his potential...

he was asking for a little to much... but the kid obviously had moves and could dangle the **** out of half of the nhl

and for people who think antropov was any better, you have to be kidding me, the guy was a sluggish ******* who had a decent wrist shot.

You're clearly mistaking Ales Kotalik for a different player if you think Antropov is not better than Kotalik.

I don't doubt it, but that was in response to Antropov not "tearing it up in hotlanta."

Zherdev would've been eaten alive by Torts. I like Kotalik a bit better just because he seems to be able to handle the **** he's dealt. I think Z would've become moody and invisible on the ice.

OR...Z would've ripped it up with Gabby. I guess we'll never know!

Don't be blinded by points. His goal last night was is FOURTH goal of the season. Many, if not most of his assist are courtesy of Kovy and Afiniganov. You'd have at least 20 if you played with them. If you think that he's much better than either Kotalik or Z that's your right. But I diagree.

As for who I'd prefer, their body of work is well documented. Just look up their stats. While Anthrax was here I thought he was slow and didn't use his body nearly enough. That's because he couldn't catch anyone. But once he had the puck deep he was a load to handle. I prefer Z.
