Anshakov is back with CSKA - he skated with Nikulin and youngster Monya last week on the second line. CSKA will be mediocre this year so I wouldn't be surprise if he earns a regular spot and has a decent season. I'd say he picked up his game over the past couple of seasons while bouncing around. He's got talent for sure.
Anshakov has other issues - but he's got talent...Monya is the one who's raising eyebrows so far! CSKA, while "mediocre", took Dynamo to SO and beat them again!
Can someone tell me how well he is progressing and is it possible he could come over to North America for next season to replace one of the roster spots that will probably open up to clear cap room (Sharp , Versteeg , Ladd, Byfuglien) at least one or 2 will be gone for next year unless we can dump Campbell.

I liked what I saw from him at the 08 rookie camp
He's doing not too well in SKA, but they are stacked a lot. He's averaging only 10 minutes a game, scored only one goal so far. But he has his moments.
According to a short article (http://khl-news.com/?p=334) Darius Kasparaitis has a pretty intense knee injury, and it might end his career.

yes, it's actually some post surgical complications, on his hip as he can't handle skating for long periods of time, since his legs swell up and he can barely walk through pain.. He actually went to US for some consultations and may retire (worst case scenario)

I think he was hurt and was on a conditioning stint in the MHL. He played for 16:45 in yesterday's win against Vityaz' and got an assist

He's a sized, mobile player with a very good technique. He has a good touch around the net and can score both highlight reel and "dirty" goals. He lacks defensive play.
