Well, at least the Bolts weren't the only team to blow a game in the last few seconds and lose in the shootout. Oilers let the Flames score with 1.5 seconds left, then lose in the shootout 4-3. Like Stamkos, Hemsky hit the post in the SO.
I saw parts of the Ducks-Wild game on Tuesday. He was alright. His goal was a wide open net after the Ducks big line did all the work and he came in late on a change. He would have had to blow the chance completely for it not to be a goal. I missed their first game with San Jose because I was out and last night I was at the game. Their games this weekend conflict with the Gators and 49ers so I probably won't see much of those either.
Over on the Ducks board we've been a bit disappointed with Artukhin. He's just not hitting anybody out there. We've surmised that maybe Carlyle has put him in a role that is a little outside his normal comfort-zone and he's still adjusting, avoiding penalties at all costs. 99 percent of the time he still has no hands whatsoever and then suddenly gives a great pass for a scoring chance. His goal yesterday was a semi-breakaway where he beat Hunwick wide and shot it through the five-hole on Thomas. Had two very good passes from behind the net after strong work on the forecheck.
Mind you, if he gets 50+ goals this season as he's on pace to do i can't complain

So there are a lot of eastern teams battling injuries right now - if there ever was a great time to gain ground on people and put some in the dust... i'd say right about now is perfect.

Do you mean if I play the entire season here, or at least end the season with Columbus? He's got 14 now, right? Well, I think it will depend on how many games he will play in. I noticed that in the last Tampa game was scratched. How many games did he play? About 30? And how many minutes did he play? Approximately 15 on average? I don't really know how many points each of us will get, it is impossible to make any statements right now. But for him to score four goals in 40 games, I personally think it's a little weak.
Man i'm really starting to question the idea of Ron Wilson as the head coach of team USA for the olympics. I'd much rather see Tortorella in charge for it. Ron Wilson projects this "i'm not entirely sure whats going on" aura to me.
