Could Simmonds injury have happened here?

I noticed this after Brown scored the OT winner against the Sharks, and I thought at the time that it was nothing, but look closely at Simmonds as he comes down.It looks like he even falls to the ice after his jump. Could this be when he messed up his knee and it eventually gave out after playing on it the next night?

wow thats weak. (the injury, not the video) That obviously has to be where it happened, because had it happened during the game, he wouldnt have jumped like that. Then again it could have happened during the phoenix game.

It takes 5 pounds of pressure to break a knee and he got some serious height and hang time on that jump before coming down. So, sure, it's possible. Send the video to Hammond and find out if he can ask. Hell, maybe it will help them figure it out.

Certainly looks like a possibility. Great detective work.

My sentiments exactly.

It definitely does look like he landed awkwardly. I don't get why he didn't just land with two feet.

I actually notice that when it happened. I was just enthused that he showed so much energy and surprised he got so much air on his jump. At the time I remember actually thinking to myself that it would be funny to injure yourself like that... I don't think it is funny anymore We keep losing our heart-and-soul players to injury...

Thanks for finding and posting that video!

As a side note, I've noticed interlacing on most of your videos. A quick click will take away all those annoying lines.

I've never noticed it before, and I'm pretty serious when it comes to the viewing quality of my videos. What type of system/browser are you using, and does anyone else have this problem?

We had a guy once that went nuts after scoring an OT goal in a tournament...went Ovechkin-scoring-nuts after and fell with what we thought was a leg cramp. So we all dogpiled him...turns out he tore his ACL celebrating. Who knew?

Total digression, but point being **** happens

Its not the player kingsfan, its how you capture and export your video. I don't know what you are using to edit and export, but when you do you need to find the 'deinterlace' setting (in the 'size' option for quicktime I believe, but again, depends on what you use), check it, then export and you won't have those lines during movement.

If you have trouble finding it, PM and I can help more.

Ps--- on my phone... Can't view your updated version.

He just thinks that jump may be where the problem started and then playing in the next game is what exacerbated the injury.

Wayne might've thought the pile was against the glass so as to support his fault but it was still moving backwards. Not a very smart decision to make on skates unless you have some support on the way down. I wouldn't blame him but that probably wasn't the smartest decision he's ever made.
