Aaron Ward on Waivers

What do you guys think as a possibility for a Vet 3rd pairing. I know he did not get along with Jagr but he was pretty descent and cheap also.

He's still on that idiotic contract Sather gave him post Carolina's cup. He's a $2.5M hit for the remainder of this season. Stay far, far away.

He has shown some snarl in the past. He was decent as a Ranger too, until he criticized Jagr and Renny/Sather made a very quick personnel decision... probably a good one too...

The only positive about Aaron Ward was that he helped us get Paul Mara who I would rather have over Roszival, Redden, and sometimes over Girardi. He stood up for his teammates, had a pretty good shot (when he used it), and his playoff beards were legendary.

**** Aaron Ward... Is that good enough for you? He was a tool bag when he was on this team the first time, and honestly I don't think he would want to come back. He tried to start **** with Jagr which is what got him sent packing the first time.

Ward at 2.5 over Rozsy at 5 anyday of the week. At least Ward knocked some people down from time to time.

I didn't mind him and wouldnt mind him back. Least he wouldnt let players run Lundqvist then just skate away.

Waive Rosy, pick up Ward.

I've stopped posting here largely because of the insanely stupid comments and misplaced vitriol from a small band of posters but the even the sight of this guy's name as a potential pickup compels me to sound off.

Ward sucked as a Ranger hands down and getting rid of him was one of the smarter things this club has done...he should have never gotten the contract in the first place. That we got Mara as a result was one of the more fortunate conclusions to what I deemed worse than signing Poti.

I pray that this remains pure speculation....if we should take any former Ranger back then we should go get Mara and tell him we're sorry but we thought we could do without the only Ranger in the past 3 seasons who actually has consistently stood up for his teammates and at least attempted to inject some fear and punishment into those
attempting to camp out in our crease

I would be 1000% behind that move.

Insert Redden or Drury as well at this point. **** it.

Dear God, no!

He was awful when he was here, but has anyone actually seen him play this season?! He's worse now than he was with us in 06-07!

Stay far, far away. I think Rozy has actually outplayed him this season.

Interesting takes on this....

I thought he was decent as a Ranger. Didnt like that he was messing with Jagr. That was way to dangerous.

But Id rather have Ward and his cap relief than Roszival. He has a ring and he will clear the crease old school style. He also use to have a pretty good shot.

We'll never know truly what happened between he and Jagr. So, i'll never judge the guy for whatever the riff was.

Anyone who has seen him play would say "hell no". The guy is horrible and a shell of himself. He is slow-footed and misses a lot of the checks he used to make. There is a a reason Boston moved him to pick up Morris(who the Ranger didnt want back to begin with).
