Of course this has no bearing on the trade going through or not, that's obviously up to a vote, as it should be.
Justifying the fact that he got ripped off by saying he could rip off someone else is flawed logic.

I see how it could come across that way but it's not what I meant. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices in a trade to aquire an asset you feel might be held in high regard so you can flip it later.

Still somewhat flawed logic, but I hope I'm explaining myself better.

Just confirming that the trade is vetoed. We need not venture further.

Scratches: Jeff Woywitka

The Dallas Stars have re-signed Brent Krahn and Matt Climie to identical two-way contracts. Each player will receive $500,000 in the NHL. Climie and Krahn will compete for the backup role in Dallas and starter in Texas (AHL).

Stars are currently negotiating with several UFA goalies to serve as Dallas' starter.

The Dallas Stars could soon be in a position that requires some moves to get under the salary cap. If you have any interest in Stephane Robidas (on pace for 40-50 points last season playing 25 minutes a game) or Nicklas Grossman, please PM me so we can discuss a potential trade. Any offer will be considered if it provides Dallas with cap relief.

Finally, Dallas is looking to swap prospects. I'd like to move Richard Bachman for a defenseman or forward prospect since I plan on signing a starting goalie for the foreseeable future this offseason. I'd also like to move Jonathon Blum for a similar prospect (salary, age, ready for the NHL, skill), but the player needs to be a forward (right shot would be a plus/not required).

wow, you're really pencilling Schroeder into your second line next year? Here's hoping, I guess.

UFAs

Slava Kozlov : He received interest from the KHL but his priority is to stay in the NHL. Once again, he had a major role in the regular season success of the Atlanta Thrashers. He is the ideal second line forward and he can play in every situations. Kozlov is a very solid and underrated veteran and he is looking for a team where he could end his career.

Matt Cullen: He is looking for a team where he would have a big role. Another guy that can play in every situations.

Fredrik Modin: He wants a place where he would have his shot on the second line. He is still a valuable goal scorer and he would consider third line minutes if he knows that he will get his chance to play on the second line at some point. He is looking for a one or two year(s) deal.

Brad May: He is seriously considering retirement at the moment unless a contender gives him a call. Money isnít a factor.

Derek Boogard: He is one of the best enforcer in the league and he is a good hockey player considering his role. He is looking for a long-term deal.

Henrik Tallinder: His carreer was resurrected last year when he played with Myers in Buffalo. Some said that Myers made him look better but the young defenseman said himself that Tallinder was a major part of his quick development last year.

Dennis Seidenberg: He is already in discussions with a team and a deal could be reached really soon. Seidenberg is a very valuable defenseman.

Lukas Krajicek: He is looking for a chance to prove that he is a better defenseman than he was the past few years. In his first years in the NHL, a lot of scouts were high on him and he wants to show that he can play up to the expectations.

PM!

Note: HC gave me Eric Nystrom but he gave him to RR too. Since RR already has an offer on the table for Nystrom, he can keep him.

I think he's NHL ready and bored with the NCAA. He should have gone pro this season. Plus, even though itís the 2nd line on paper, heíll play 3rd line minutes at ES and 1st PP or about 14 to 16 minutes a game. Tom Wandell is going to be Dallasí workhorse at ES. Heís the best defensive center I have, and he has great offensive skills (just plays a defense first role in Dallas this season).

The New York Rangers are currently looking to trade right winger Ales Kotalik. We will trade him for the best pick/prospect possible.

We will also listen to other offers. Even if there are several players that I'm not looking to trade, my real untouchables are Henrik Lundqvist, Marian Gaborik and Marc Staal. Every other players are available for the right deal.

PM!

UFA Update

Jordan Leopold is the only one with any type of offer. He has a two offers in the same range and the teams are about the same rank. He is preferably looking for top four minutes and minutes on special teams.

FYI, if you want to sign a 2009 or 2010 draft pick, follow this formula:

1st - $3,750,000
2nd - $3,500,000
3rd - $3,400,000
4th - $3,250,000
5th - $3,000,000
6th - $2,250,000
7th - $2,000,000
8th - $1,750,000
9th - $1,750,000
10th - $1,750,000
11th - $1,500,000
12th - $1,250,000
13th through 20th - $1,000,000
21st through 61st - $900,000

EXAMPLE:
Taylor Hall (1st overall 2010) signs a 3 year ELC worth $3.75 million/year.
Alex Chiasson (2009 2nd round pick) would sign a 3 year ELC worth $900,000/year.

If you want to sign a player drafted before 2009 or players drafted after the 2nd round in 2009, you have to PM me. If you want detailed contract information for a 2009 or 2010 1st/2nd round pick, PM me.
