PJ Stock fired from Team 990

http://habsinsideout.com/boone/liveblog/25855

On Boone's blog of tonight's game:

PJ Stock:

History at the Team 990. Too many kids and too many jobs. Randy Tieman takes over, probably in early January.

Quitting your job and being fired are two different things

It's unfortunate this idiot will likely take over Don Cherry's spot when he either retires or croaks. Sigh

I would say Hrudey is being groomed for that, after all he is the guy in the 2nd game for behind the mask.

Stock is nothing more than a filler for updates, other than that he would be serving lunch to the CBC crew.

At least he offset Marinaro
Stock had played the game and brought a behind the scenes perspective
Other than Pasta; canollies and a frequent "I told you so" what insight can he bring?

he wasn't fired, he's overworked with his cbc gig etc.
and now he's replaced with the terribly boring and vanilla randy tieman
or the crappy college sophomores mckenna and campbell.
at least pj knew hockey and was controversial, these other three slugs
are AWFUL

I can't decide what is the best way to describe stock, clown or tool.

I'm a huge fan of Randy, and imo thats a great Move.

You're not the only one.

Man made me laugh, brought insight that only he had on the station and put on a good show. It's too bad he'll be gone.

Best of luck to him.

No, I like him a fair bit. I know most people round here (or at least the vocal ones) can't stand him, but he's got his good things about him. His strengths are definitely not vocabulary and quality of expression when he's attempting to be incisive or observe something, and he frequently comes off out-of-his-element, but he's funny and I like hearing anecdotes from the road. I always thought PJ would be best suited for an ensemble radio 'cast' where he's not the main guy. He needs somebody way more intellectual than Marinaro alongside him, IMO.

Randy seems likeable, but I find his voice a bit slow-paced and whiny.

Randy is nice, but so cookie-cutter in personality.

PJ is a joker, and added a bit of fun to the show... in a "everyone was a monkey" kinda way. Not the smartest hockey mind, but personality counts too. I'm often driving when he's on, will miss him (although at times his voice is way too whiny and high pitch).

Bad for team990.
