I would say Hrudey is being groomed for that, after all he is the guy in the 2nd game for behind the mask.
Stock is nothing more than a filler for updates, other than that he would be serving lunch to the CBC crew.
I forgot all about him. I hope your right because he's one of the few on CBC I actually like, always does a good analysis and he's not really a homer for any one team. *cough* Bruins...
he had the only shred of hockey credibility in the bunch. SOme of you rather listen to that overgrown meatball Marianro cause he breaks news stories, but they has to congradulate himself for 5 weeks after.
I know some people didnt like his approach on the habs, but alot of the times he was bang on. Its funny cause Mcguire historically has been so much more negative towards the habs, yet people want him as GM!! What a crock.
Its a radio show, he made it enjoyable to listen to.
I for one think Randy Tieman is terrible. He is monotone, only takes calls, dosent have much of an opinion on anything, and isnt confrontational.
Will be some terrible radio until Melnyck gets on.
I will miss PJ. He could be stupid and silly. But he also knew what he was talking about.
he sure does. like saying plek was nothing more than a 3rd line center or that Heatley wouldnt be that productive with Joe, cause Joe only has had success with talented right wingers.

I liked him. Figured he'd move to Toronto sooner or later anyway, probably a lot more professional upside there. Still surprising though, he'll be missed.
As a sports radio host in Trois-Rivières, PJ was one of my role model. The reason: Not only was he funny, which is part of my show, but he always kept a neutral eye on most things.
When the Habs are hot, he'd calm the wave down, and when the Habs were cold, he'd but a bit of sunlight on everything. I'm gonna miss him. However, you'd have to see this coming, as he could barely be on radio without interfering with his CBC schedule.
If anyone knows how I could join him, I'd really like that. I would love to get his opinion of the whole thing.
Now if only Mcguire and his unabashed anti-Canadiens bias follows him out the door, the Team 990 might just become respectable. Two stooges that are easily replaceable.

Stock got fired because of the Habs hate, what other city in the world has a sports radio station that has a guy on mid afternoon that HATES the home town team ? Go ahead people name me one city ! You knew that the grudge match he and Gainey had going would one day come back to haunt him. You guys would be surprised how big the Habs and Gainey are in this city ! I would not bet against the Molsons having something to do with this.
just an fyi if you read Pat Hickey`s article in the gazette this morning, he alludes that he left rather than got fired, to spend time with his family.
Between HNIC, antichambre and Team 990 he had no time for his family.
He will also be doing hockey updated on CHOM every morning at 7:55 am.

So he left, wasnt fired.
I have fired people all my life, it's the right way to do it, by them saying they stepped down. Who cares anyway, he is an idiot !
I was pretty frustrated with the venomous poison Stock spouted about the Habs on a daily basis, but I actually thought he was becoming more positive about them since the summer signings. He would put Tony in his place, god knows that man's ego will expand uncontrollably if left unchecked.
P.J.Stock does have a lot going on in his career, who knows whether he was fired or left?
I'm not the biggest Tieman fan, but that's mostly because I saw him on the street and told him I was a big fan and he shrugged me off and walked away. Who does he think he is...Steve Martin or something?
If only Denis Casavant realized life is short and stopped spending so much time on the Team 990. I don't understand why that guy does a late World Series Game and then gets at 2am to do the morning show. Doesn't RDS pay enough? He probably has a paper route as well, to fill in that 2am to 5am slot.
I sure won't miss P.J., although I don't think it's at all clear that he was "fired" instead of just quit. But I'm very sorry to hear Tiemen's getting the slot. Randy's a nice enough fellow, but about as entertaining as a piece of gingerbread.

For Denis' health and welfare, your probably right, but I don't even want to imagine Price and Starr on their own without him. Casavant is by far the most interesting and insightful voice on the team 990 after Melnik, at least to me.
