Flyers are clearly not interested enough to give up Gainey's asking price. They have just claimed Leighton off waivers.

Well, hopefully Gainey can still get a good return.

He deserves to have a starting job and it's obviously not here until Price is here.

Does not affect Halak as it does the team.

On top of it, I'd argue that his value has dropped by 27.78%.

Probably should've asked after the 45-save game vs. Ottawa instead of the 4 GA outing vs. the Sabres, but hey...

His value just dropped like a rock...expect a 3rd rounder + a low prospect.

Why not? dude is a good goaltender. Ignoring last nights game, he has had many games that he stole for us.

I am not a Halak fanboy, I like both goalies equally.

we will know wether or not carey is/will be better than halak...

I 'm expecting carey's psychologists to ask for a raise.

I think Gainey will get more than that for him.

I hate players asking for a trade... its not to up to them

Don't trade him then unless its a good value.

Disappointed in Halak... thought he was a team guy

Halak went from almost being able to fetch something considerable to competing with Sergei for lowest possible value.

Trading Halak, alone, is useless IMO....he's almost worth more to the habs than trading him for a draft pick to another team. If i'm Gainey (and I often like to think I am lol) i'd package Halak + pick + young roster player to get full value for Halak

LMAO.... did anyone read the friggin article???

Halak told Bob, I wanna PLAY, whether I'd be IN MONTREAL OR ELSEWHERE. He asked Bob to decide.

This is not the first time to happen either, and Halak is still with us since the last time it happened.

On another note, BG is giving exclusives to Raymond again now? It's been a really long time, maybe now Graymound will stop ******* the Habs at every turn.... or did he just make this up (I would be surprised).

I think the best bet is to keep him for now. We don't really need a 2nd rounder if that's what BG is implying. We need someone who can help make a difference now, or else it's his ass on the line like it's been since the start of the season. We should also wait and see if Carey Price is back for good first, then we can maybe move Cedrick Desjardins to back him up if we let Halak go.

PS. i do agree that Halak should get his chance though to be a first somewhere.

Why are you guys saying that his value dropped? One game doesn't change value and the goals allowed can be argued as not being his fault.

Wow

I don't think he's being out of line...he hasn't DEMANDED a trade, he justs wants an opportunity to play as a #1 goalie, whether that's in Montreal or elsewhere...and he's asked Gainey to accomodate him if that chance can't come in Montreal.

Halak has been a great team guy thus far...can't knock the guy for wanting to play
